ooohhh boy

How can you even think about something 5 years off? The anticipation of that would kill me by itself, let alone the fact that you will probably change your plans 1,937 times before then.

LOL dude, ive actually got stuff planned thats 5, 10, even 15 years off, like, in 3-4 years, im taking my dad elk hunting, that is his dream hunting trip, and due to his quad bypass, had to give up that dream, cause he had to retire, so my combo birthday/father's day present to him in 3-4 years is going to be a trip out west, prolly colorado, wyoming or montana and let him a trophy elk :p

Thst's pretty much the reason I rarely plan much at all. I'm terrible at plans and if I want something I buy it, and if I really want to do it I go ahead and go. We never know when our last day around here will be.

get a tank already... approaching 600 posts and still no tank lol.
Set up a 20gallon.. small, relatively cheap, easy to experiment with.

That's where he has more patience than me. I had the tank (and way to many fish along with many other problems) before I even posted once.

AHAHA... but he's gonna end up psyching himself out and getting discouraged ending up with no tank. What good is this pyramid scheme if he never actually buys a tank?

Not to be a downer, but honestly, I think I'd much rather go with a traditional tank/sea-world-type-aquarium setup. Something raised up, maybe on a stand, with a main front viewing panel, instead of that massive of a lagoon. Keeping with your dimensions, something like 14' long, 6' deep, 4' tall would be about as cool as possible. That way, once it's all finished, how awesome would it be to sit back in a super comfy leather Lay-Z-boy and watch the tank, instead of having to sit on the tank rim, trying to peer into the tank, trying to see the fish/corals through the waves/reflections...

ahhhh, but u see, thats why in the front of each side, cause its gonna be backed into a corner, will have a 8x3 piece of 2" plexiglass in it, so we can see into it from the side :p

OK......are you for real with the size??? or is this a "what if" kinda thing
If you are for real I would say totally aggressive tank! rays and sharks , this way if anyone steps out of line.....hey come on over and help me feed my fish
Talk about a good place to get rid of the body!!!!
Who said that

and yes, im very much for real with the size of this thing lol
If I were going that big...I would forego any kind of house...this is the only way I would be able to afford it...I would make the tank err lagoon that much bigger and build a circular pod within it so I could see fish all around. So it would be like you living in an aquarium, and the fish would watch you
...that'd be neat
.

That's a nice size basement
. How would you do concrete work in an existing basement...is it a walkout, or you trying to come in a window? Either way I would think it would be difficult
