i have a 8 foot tank with glass lids... my lights sit on top of them. should i take the back sides of the lids off so the light is stronger on my corals? they are only pcs
opinions people!!! i need some!!

but i do agree. i really want to upgrade. though im only 16 i have spent every dollar ive made to this tank lol. im waiting for a deal to come around on craigslist haha

I recommend making your own wood canopy. I made a 10" tall canopy and finished (light oak) it for $40 for my 125g tank. It was SO easy-and I have a badly injured back.With a canopy your light can be further away from the water to minimize heating the water and no need to have any kind of cover between the water and the lights because the splash can't reach it and NO bugs getting into the tank during the summer.I have a 6 bulb T-5 unit (4 daylight 53 watts and 2 actinic blue and moonlight LEDS) and an old fashioned 48" daylight bulb florescent.Zoas and mushrooms love the set up.

haha yeah. my neighbor helps us build stuff. but right now.. we live in nebraska and the cold is killing our house. our water pipes froze then exploded in the music room. it flooded the whole room! so i think ill wait till spring lol

BTW The "auction site" has some really good sellers who sell what I have for about $100, including shipping. They don't have lasers and pyrotechnics like some of the reef-junkies insist on, but they will work for 80% of the coral out there.

Dang, that's why I moved from Idaho. And now Az feels too cold.These 65 degree days are killing me.I am on the border of Mexico. I might just move further south.

After 6 years here in Az, I wonder how people live in that kinda cold.Then, I remember that I did for the first 34 years of my life.At 40, my achy bones creek just thinking about it.

yeah man. when im 18.. i need to get out of the cold lol. though summers can be pretty hot.. sometime 105F thats if were lucky lol

well.. we are from omaha nebraska. which is a big indie music scene. me and my brothers are all musicians. so we made a music room in our basement. with recording equiptment, guitars, synths, keyboards, drums, piano what ever instrument we find at a thrift store we buy haha. if its nice of course.
we are sooooo lucky that the water had completely missed ALL of the electronics. we may havve lost a twelve string guitar to the water lol.
