Just got a look at some orange ricordia at my lfs today. Beautiful except with a $40.00 per polyp price tag a little expensive! Anyone have any of these?

My lfs used to sell orange ricordea for $11 per polyp now they have raise their prices to $20. I think $40 is way over priced. The oranges are harder to come by, but I can get green and purple for about $5 per polyp.

Florida or Yuma? I sell the Ricordea florida for a lot less than my Yumas. I guess it just depends on how common they are.

If I remember correctly mine ran $25 for a single polyp...and there are now four....worth the expense in my opinion.

As Bang mentioned "orange ricordea" can refer to the Pacific Ricordia Yuma and the Atlantic Ricordea florida.
I got the orange and pink floridas on my bed here from a respectable online supplier for just $6 a polyp on sale. Keep in mind that the quality of ricordia can vary greatly, so know who you buy from. There is another online supplier that charges $11 per polyp, but he has connections with a collector that gets the best floridas on a consistent basis. I would never pay more than that for a florida unless it was right in front of me and a nice piece.
Yumas on the other hand are much more expensive, especially the bright orange. I got mine for $50 which was a steal after a bunch flooded the market not long ago. Bright pink yumas demand super high prices. Keep in mind that the depth of color on these guys too varies from polyp to polyp, so I wouldn't buy one online unless it was WYSWYG or I knew the vendor...
Here's some of my floridas...

I'm always jealous of waterfaller1's tank. It has to be one of the nicest tanks I've seen. Brooklyn Johnnys ricordia's are pretty bad looking (bad as in good) I'd love to have some of his ricordia's.
