Oregon Ducks.

So you may remember a couple months ago when I posted that Oregon Duck fans are the worst? I am sitting here watching the news and a Oregon Duck supporter is getting busted for pulling up a piece of Oregon States turf and lighting it on fire after the win this weekend. Somebody had a camera out and documented it while the other Duck fans celebrated.
Oregon may have had a shot at the National Title, but I am really hoping the act of disrespect by a Duck fan has set in motion a sports curse of epic preportions.

I may go to the big outhouse and flip it the bird, I may pee all over that stadium, I may call ann arbor a whore, but I atleast have respect for the scUM and wouldnt do that.
Doesnt matter, we found out what happens to ducks when the face a real defense last year. Only, I don't know if auburn has a real defense.

lol Still not as bad as igles fans. Do they still hold court in the stadium for the assaults that happen during the game?

Okay, just saw another news article and now they think the idiot was burning a OSU Beavers t-shirt and dropped it on the turf. Still though you have to wonder what kind of person would light a fire like that in a crowded stadium and then drop it on a field of plastic astro-turf.
The Oregon State Police are looking to make an arrest and the punishment can be 5 years and a 125,00.00 dollar fine. Let's hope when they do catch this guy, the judge is a Beavers fan. LOL

I just don't get the whole super-fan thing, I go to the Beaver games to tailgate and visit with friends and then enjoy a game. The last thing I am looking for is to get in a fight with someone or talk to the police for any reason. I just don't get it.

Sometimes people get exited and do stupid things.
Oregon AU should be interesting because neither conference tears it up on the defensive end of the field. Could see a 100 point game.

Duck fans are just about the same as any other fans, you have good ones and bad ones...Duck fans are certainly no worse than many of the Beaver fans I know....Biggest difference are Duck fans have a better education than Beavers.

From a Husky....GO DUCKS!!!!!

Having grown-up going to both Duck and Beaver home games I would have to disagree about the quality of the fans. I have seen a few angry Beavers, but have not yet seen anybody seriously harassed over wearing their team colors like I have seen at Autzen since the Ducks with Uncle Phils help went prime-time. I dare you to wear your Husky stuff out of Autzen after they post a win against the Ducks at home and see how you are treated. LOL
Until a Beaver fan runs onto Autzen Stadium and burns a hole in the "O", the Ducks have the worst fan title IMHO.
I also am a little confused how these Duck fans can justify storming Reeser Stadium after being so pissed at the Huskies for dancing on the "O". At least the Huskies did not damage anything and now the state high school games are going to be playing on a damaged field since they won't be able to repair it in time.

I was in the Florence area like 6 years back and a kid who was wearing a ducks jersey just because he liked it, didn't really care about the team. He got hassled by a couple of 20 somethings about how bad the ducks sucked and all that. Really classy there. Couple of the old codgers that were at the campground threatened to throw the woopin on the 20 somethings and they were all "Oh we're just messing with the kid". Right, the kid was maybe 10. They walked past us and I yelled "Hey, you Beaver fans". They both nodded and grinned. Can't really post what my response back was on a family friendly forum but it wiped the grin off their faces.

Ducks are gonna own Newton.
Count it!
Ducks 48
Auburn 28
I'm no fan of either one BTW!

If I had to guess I'd say Oregon will beat them too. Been a long time since the SEC played serious defense so I am not sure AU stands a chance in a shootout.

alabama against texas? really? that wasnt much of a defense. The bigger problem for texas was that colt got hurt.

A year has been a long time?
Once upon in the SEC if you gave up more than a couple TD a game no way were you going to have a winning season. Last several years with the exception of Bama the last few years it's been all about the offense. Certainly more entertaining than the old time defensive battles.

Its the SEC. Expect a 5 or 6 Straight National Championship by the Super Conference!
Not exactly. I think it will be a shoot out and that oregon has more bullets in their gun.

Anyone find it ironic that after the heisman ESPN showed their 30 for 30 on SMU and the Death Penalty? I had totally forgoten how much "cheating" as going on back then. Its kinda the same now, only they are getting players nonsensical jobs (oklahoma) or cars (just about everywhere) or what have you. For the real superstars, they still get cash and housing (USC). Anyone catch the comment from Newton? He was asked a while ago about what he thought of the bad news swirling around his recruitment. His response was,"It doesnt matter. It wont effect me." Kinda sounds like an admission of guilt, right? I think the heisman trust will be collecting another trophy in about 5 years.

No. The question asked was more along the lines of the negative publicity and drama associated with his recruitment and how that affected him. To which an answer of "it doesn't matter. It won't effect me" fits well.
However, honestly I don't care. I don't care if Cam was sitting right beside his father when they got the money (Cam's even more then Bush's. It was to a school he didn't even play for). All a fan of football should want, is to watch great football. To which we were benefitfully provided I still don't think Bush should have been forced to give back his Heisman, and if Newton is found guilty later, neither should he. Was Reggie Bush not the best player of 2005? Wasn't Netwon's perforrnance this season, one of the best in the history of the game? These guys aren't taking steroids, videotaping opponents... It's useless, and I do mean useless, crap off the field.

Remember at my school (UCF) the QB was pushing a new Range Rover Sport. Upset a bit at first too, but then thought about it. First, larger luxury cars are safer vehicles, never a bad thing. Probably more reliable then the typical car a standout highschool player from some inter-city would drive. And then above all else, again, in the big picture what's it matter. I sincerely doubt schools use "come to our school, we'll lease you a nice car."
