looking around that site, some of their stuff is quite high
xp2000 processors should only be 100
not 150
try www.d-computes.com
as for eht video card, if you want a good 64 meg
get teh g4 mx440 se
and get it with 64 mb ddr.
I believe that one is about 100
the radeon is not bad, but I do prefer nvidia. I had botha dn definitely cannot complain about the ati, but the nvidia is much beter with support and updates.
What are you going to be doing with this system?

You might also want to try www.newegg.com...They have unparalleled service and damn good pricing...especially on cpu's...
Antec makes good power supplies, but Enermax is the best IMO. It isn't just me who thinks that either. Do a search for Enermax and I'm sure you will find many positive reviews.

Just don't get the cheaper enermax cases. I had to bend the metal on the last 2 I got to get the cards to fit properly. The nicer ones worked great though!

As for the powersupply, my friend said it should be fine. Asus, was recommended, i guess that was a good choice:D. The RAID option is only a 10 dollar difference and i think theres some other features missing, so i would just go for it. As for a hard drive and videocard, what do you recommend for those? i just want a 40 gig hard drive with 7200rpm, is there any good brands that wont mess up(ive had 2 friends with HPs that just went dead for no reason) and what about a video card, is there a good videocard you guys recommend me getting that i can use for games like command and conquer generals and the upcoming Halo, i have 200 dollars to spend on these two things since they are coming out of my pocket:rolleyes:
Thanks guys for your quick responses :D

ya the deluxe u get sound (5.1) , 2 network cards, serial ata (maybe with the normal version dont remember) so the extra few bucks makes it worth it.
go with 2 256mb ddr 400 if you can - if you go the the nforce 2 chipset , its around 5-10% boost on performace with 2 chips (slot 1 and 3 on the board) vs a single mem chip
and the WD40 with 8mb cache are the drives to beat.. some test even faster then scsi drives
video card the radeon 9500 or the 9000 i think (replaced the 8500) dont waste your money on a MX if your gaming spend some money on a card.. none of the gf's 4 are dx9 compliant (meaning they they play but cant render the dx9 intructions), the FX is but at 400 bucks

If you need to save, enlights are generally cheaper than antec
and We have had real ggod luck with startechs which are definitely cheaper than antec. i paid almost 90 bucks for mine jsut the other month.
and if your video is a g4 or something that doesn't need a bigger suply, a 300 watt should be fine. You could save a few bucks there. Prices do go up pretty good after 300 watts

Enermax are one of the top of the line ps's out

i already put in the order for the stuff so i cant change it now. As for the graphics card, theres the visiontek xtasy 9100 64 ddr(i think its like the radeon 9000 but cheaper), is this any good? its much cheaper then the ATI cards but isnt it just the same chips different brand?
What about i just get a Geforce3 Ti card? though outdated, isnt that better then an MX anyways?400 dollars, thats a lot of money for me, im just going to upgrade later to a high end videocard. I just want something "decent or something good for the price right now"
I will be playing games but i dont need to play at the highest settings. Games like Counter-strike, Hitman2, soilder of fortune 2, command and conquer generals, Halo and the counter-strike condition zero(when ever those last two are coming out.)
im going to get the 80 gig Compusa(maxtor) 7200 rpm, 8meg cache today since its almost half off with mail-in rebate, the annoying part is waiting for that check to come.
For the case theres a thing about enermax Ps, this is from the site.Notes: (1) The two-fan Enermax power supplies do not work well with this case since the 2nd internal fan would face the top of the case instead of down toward CPU. The PSU mounting holes are oriented wrong (upside-down) on this case.

sorry, had not realized he had posted about the enermax at the same time as me, I was refering to entice's link to the raidmax power supplies. When I had adviced against a ps.
the g3 was a good card and still is. That should be fine

other than the HD, i like the looks of it, and that one is merely personal opinion.
and the power supply which you had ordered, but are also planing to upgrade.
one questoin, do you need the ethernet or modem?? do you realy need both?
most of us don't. I myself have no modem, and see no need for one. For me it is just a waste of a pci slot. But that too si your choice, or maybe you do need both.
(ok, i see you are not getting a modem)
form what i can see,it does come with an optional lan card. but am unsrure what they mean by optional, an optional riser to hook up or what?
Several reviews of that particular board say that it is included in the box.

yeah i found it very odd too, i actually save about 20-40 dollars if they build it opposed building it myself
with a few modifications on the case that im going to do with the guy, i think it should be about 600-700 overall
im planning to get the radeon 9000 64 ddr for only 85 dollars

yeah, believe ti or not, sometimes they can build it cheaper. I know withour store, I cannot figure out how some of these places are doing it. I canot purchase the parts for the same price as some are selling it for. The only thing I can figure is that they are relying on volume to make money and not profit.
Those dell adss, for 499, I cannot get eth same board and processor and so on for less than 475. Now, top that off with shipping and paying someone for 2 hrs to build and load a system. Can't even compete. The only advantage we have that is keeping us afloat is our service dept. and the people who want a special item or system. Dell does not customize, at all. Thank god! Now, I am currently laid off, but am stil involved with the Corporation and we are trying to figure out what we can do. One option is closing the store and just doing service. No retail at all. 3 computer stores (actually 4 but one is merely a satelite of our other) in a radius of over 30 miles, maybe even close to 40. and All of us are having hte same problmes and cutting back drastically.
Personaly I like the radeons, and have had them, but if you are not a nut then I would go with the g3 or g4. Like I said better updates and support. Sometimes things do happen, which is just driver related.
Which cpu cooler are you getting?

the deluxe model does include 2 nics (one nvidia, one 3com), i would spend money on that... it comes with firewire too..
and drop the POS Gf4.. (magic = mx = crap) get that 9100.. i used to love nvidia... (video cards) but ati has proven them selfs to makeing fast cards, and can do more for the same amount of money, sorta like what amd is doingto intel hehe

OEM cooler is fine btw... unless your going to try and overclock..
ATI new drivers (catylast 3.0 andup) are very stable and well writen.. i would agree a year ago, their drivers were crapola.. but as their cards became the faster, there drivers support became 100X better

the delux is actually 139, 25dollars more, i dont know if they will still build it for me but i will surely ask.
slothy is the radeon 9000 any good? thats all i can afford right now, or should i just use nvida card thats built in and just upgrade the ram to two of the 512's?
what are two nic's? when it comes to computers im clueless? is that two ethernet ports? meaning i dont need a dsl router to share a dsl connection with two computers? that would really help me a lot if it does.

I have the 9700 Radeon Pro and it owns... the fps on this thing while playing Counter-Strike is amazing. With Vsync on, I hit 55-60 fps and never drop.
Without Vsync on, I run 100-90 fps! No lag spikes! So amazing..
Vsync= makes ur graphics look smoother and look more reallistic

well if you can pull some extra coin i would try for the 9100... but the 9000 is around the speed of a mx460 gf4 card...
that board even in deluxe (a7n8x) doesnt come with a on board video card, some of the newer boards with the other nforce2 chipset (IGP), comes with the onboard video (but i would ver away from that since it uses system memory = slow )
nic = network card, if you have cable modem.. then this saves u some money.. the deluxe comes with 2 of them, 6 USB 2.0 Ports , 2 firewire ports, awsome sound card (builtin)... cant go wrong with this board
