Ok let me tell you the story leading up to all of this.
My Truck was recently broken into at work (monday). This is the second time it has happened to me at the same place. As i was talking to the police, he told me that this was the 43rd break in in two months in our parking lot. WOW!!! The day mine was broken into was the third day in a row that a car had been hit. My cd player was stolen and window shattered. Insurance will not cover any of this because of my $500 deductible. As my mom picked me up from school i asked her what we were going to do. "get you a new car" ....I was so happy. The truck was bought brand new, but was now a piee of Shi+ After being in 3 wrecks (none of which were my fault) stuck in the mud 4 times and numerous broken windows, it was time for me to get a new car.
So here i am looking at a nissan Sentra se-R spec v.
175hp 6 speed
17" wheels
and 300w of stereo power.
Any one ever driven one of these?
i looked at the svt focus and the GTI but those were out of my price range. Oh well. Sorry just thought i would share.

Is it a new one, or just new for you?
I think Nissans are pretty good cars. I've never known anyone to have a problem with them when they were taken care of...can't say the same for anything ford makes...
It's always nice to get a new car. I bought a new 2003 Celica GTS in May this year, and still refuse to let anyone else drive the thing. :D :p ;) The supercharger makes driving fun. ;)

We are on our 2nd pathfinder and have had 0 problems. As far as the American purchase, they are almost all built here in the USA,
most engines are assembled else where. Can you go to the library and look at consumer reports?
How fun, a new car. Can't beat that. I was excited when I got my new van last year. (life pretty boring when a Van excites me) Can you still drive the junker to work? Whats up with all the break ins. You would think the owners of the mall/property/business would want to nip that in the bud.
have fun picking, post a pic of those new wheels when you get it.
:D

My Toyota was built in Kentucky. :D
My boyfriend's ford fell apart in North Carolina for no apparent reason other than it is a FORD. Now he owns a Camry. :D

LOL, forgot about the found on road dead.....
They will HEAR you comin' before they see ya'. Nasty thing about new cars is the dreaded payments.
What are they doing about all of the break ins?
6 speed, wow, I miss my stick shift. It was great in the snow.

My car came with a JBL system and su
oofer for FREE since it was also supposed to have a deflector for my sunroof...long story short, I had to pay the measly $70 to have the wind deflector installed and they hooked me up with the stereo system for free.
Have you thought of selling the truck instead of trading it in? When I was ready for my new car, the dealer was only going to give me $2,350 on my old car for a trade in, but I sold the thing 2 days after that for $5,000. Dealers don't like to give out money. Just a thought.

Congrat's Aarone,
I'll admit I like alot of Nissan's designs; the Extera, 350z, the other suv they have, and of course the skyline.
STILL.... I have to just encourage you to consider an american car. We're loseing so many companies, jobs, cash flow, to overseas manufacturers... and sending the final corporate profits overseas.
I see it on a regular basis dealing with vendors and suppliers. If we don't support our own companies, its not just the people lucky enough to land jobs at them who will lose out.
Granted, some of the foreign manufacturers have higher quality ratings, don't depreciate as fast, and are by far better values. Will you not spend a few dollars more to support a lfs? If you are fortunate enough to afford a new car, than you can afford to spend a bit more on an american. Just my two cents... which I understand most people... won't understand

can't blame it all on cars....major US companies are getting rid of its US employees to recruit people overseas. Bringing them here and that money too is going back to their home. Also huge percentage of customer service is actually overseas. They aren't even sitting on US soil.
We are not given enough choices in goods to purchase from here.
Anyway, I drive a dodge and love it, have had 2 toyotas loved them, also 2 nissans (which were made here). It all boils down to what works for you. Have fun picking it out. By the way, how are you going to hid it from your Dad?? ;) Truck, what truck??
:D He will probably love the stereo, I know my husband would.
You should see the monster he put in his 71 Cutlass. The bass takes up half the trunk......

Ahh I love the "American versus Import" debate. My wife has a 2001 convertible C5 black vette and I drive a 1990 Nissan 300ZX twin turbo. Yeah yeah, everyone loves looking at the vette and her car is newer and her car blah blah blah blah. Ohh, forgot to mention, my Nissan is a stage 3 built from JWT. And I agree...corvettes are nice cars.....they have really nice headlights...hint hint ;p
All in all....everyone has opinions about cars and alot are biased about them. Bottom line, get what YOU will be happy with.

It's a nice car but I'll put my 2000 Honda Prelude against it any day. My wife drives a Ford Explorer - best of both worlds.

I wish I had a pic of it but here in town is a guy who owns a performance engine shop and he has like a 1980-1982 Subaru Brat 4x4 but he put a 4g63 motor from an Eclipse GS-T...OMG that thing moves. I'd love to see under the hood and see how he retro-fitted the drivetrain..especially on such a narrow wheel-base vehicle.
I like Hondas..except for the civics with "this sticker makes me go 50mph faster" decals all over them. Couple of S2000's around..only met up with one and he either did not know how to drive or he had shaky feet cuz he stalled off the line (oops)
