What I wouldn't give to me in sunny california or florida today. Last night up here on the east coast of canada we had what's called a weather bomb(means really big blizzard). We got 45 centimeters of snow dumped on us(17.7 inches)....and last Saturday and Monday we had 23 inches as well. We are running out of places to put all this crap! If anyone wants to see a whole crap load of snow I can take some pics later today! We couldn't get out our doors today, when we opened the, we were faced with a 7 foot wall of snow. :)
Just thought i'd share.

Geez, I thought we had it bad here in CT. It has been below freezing for 2 weeks. Day time yesterday was about 25 and that feels warm. Night has been below 0.
I'm getting cabin fever myself.:(

Timesedwards, people from England wouldn't know what extreme wet weather was until they spent a weekend in the state of Washington.
Lets talk facts. Englands highest average monthly rainfall is Jan. 3.10" and Dec. 3.10" Washington state's is Nov. 5.9" and Dec. 5.62" and by the way a hurricane can dump more rain than England can get in a month. Extreme? Does England have deserts, mountains, tropical storms or artic weather(Alaska)? Stick with the fog cause thats all you got in extreme weather.

Azonic -
I always thought the wall of snow thing when opening the door only happened in cartoons. I guess it happens in Canada, too, though.

Greetings Azonic from the other coast of Canada, Vancouver where it rarely snows. Grass is green crocus & snowdrops are blooming. Shorts on folk are still seen every know and then. Wish you were here, lol. Btw, whereabouts is Mt Pearl and by golly where do you obtain supplies for your reef?:) TT

Yeah, it is real nice this time of yr in FLA, but be careful what you wish for. In the summer, some people die of heat stroke in southern parts of the country.

teetee: Mt. Pearl is right next to St. John's(the capital). We're known as the "twin cities" cuz we are connected on almost all sides.
My reefiing supplies I get from various sources. I have one store in St. John's that I use 95% of the time, pretty good prices considering he pays $6 a KG to get stuff shipped on Air canada cargo. I have bought some things from J&L Aquatics in BC, and from a few fellow reefers on some message forums. For the most part I get very competetive prices locally.

Hey CANADA at least you have snow! In Madison, Wisconsin we have NO SNOW, but -30 windchill advisories for the last couple days. At least with some snow it would be pretty out my window. Even my HUSKY wants to stay inside!!!!
Anyone in California want to adopt me????

Well, it is very cold here in Ga. However, I am not claiming it is very extreme compared to other parts of the county. Nevertheless, it is cold.
I am going to have to disagree with you pretty severely though waterwolf. I'd back off times just a hair there partner. I have family in Washington, spent much time there. Yes it does have harsh winters, you are correct. I have also spent much time skiing right above you at Whistler/ Blackcomb in Canada. It is colder up there. Now, I was born in New York, so I know cold there. And I have also lived in England. London to be precise. I take it you haven't becaue you're under the impression that all they have is fog. Well, I apologize for putting you on the spot, but England has some extraordinarily harsh weather. That fog can roll off the Thames river and in a matter of seconds you can be caught in the worst rain stoms you have ever seen. And if you compound that with the brutal cold of English winters, you aren't enjoying yourself. On top of that, the ice that often forms there can be rather intimidating to explore. Oh, on top of that... you mentioned England's highest rainfall. You do realize, that you are taking a state (Washington) and comparing its average rainfall with a COUNTRY (England). It might give you a better impression of their precipitation if you take one of England's regions, or large cities. Because, their average rainfall as a country is found by taking the average rainfall in every city and region. I am sure you took all this into account though before giving times such a hard time. Check out the weather channel some time. When they do their global minute, when they get to England, they often mention how it is notorious for its weather. Hey, that's just what I experienced when living there. It could have changed though.
