Got my canopy built and primered. Still need to run to the store for wood and hinges for the door... lazy today. I think it is going to come out nice. Can't wait to get the lights into it. :D

Here is the unfinished canopy from front left. As you can see I don't have the door put on yet. It has one coat of primer drying ATM. The drop down shelf looking thing inside is a vent slot.

One last look from below left. Another good view of the cooling vent and fan cut out.
Dimensions of the whole canopy are 10" high x 12" deep x 32" long. This will be going on my 29 gallon. I've got another coat of black to go on the outside and maybe one more of white on the inside. Once the door is finished I'll get it in place and take more pics. :D

OK! It's finished. I sat it on top of the 20 long that houses my kingsnake. Here's a pic of it opened.

Wax32 and Sula.... can you guys email me the sites you found for the VHO lighting? I'm trying to decide myself on the best option for my tank (not much will fit on a 44g pentagon), but I believe I can sqeeze 3 24's and at least one smaller bulb (even if it's a NO) if I custom build a hood, which I'm going to do anyway. Shortly after posting those pics my computer died. I'm on a computer at the wife's work. Turns out the vent should've been on the outside of the canopy so I had to redo it (the vent). This past weekend I finally bought my VHOs. Went with four bulbs for 300W on a 29 gallon. :D I also installed an AquaC Remora skimmer. I'm going to take some pics and post em up when I can for those of you that were following this thread. I did all the wiring myself and it wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it was going to be. Also picked up my first corals: a nice hammer, a good sized colony of green star polyps and my dealer threw in a small rock with some zoos. :) Hopefully I can get some pics posted up in the next few days. And get my computer fixed! I'm missing reading these boards.

Bigsteve: hopefully you have found a site or two by now, since I'm not on my own computer I don't have my favorites list to look at for site info.

Trying to adjust the pics' color balance to match what I see is sorta tough. :eek: I think you can see them pretty well tho. Gonna have to practice adjusting my pics!
