Peacock Mantis Pics in his new home

So the upgrade is complete. I just moved over my Mantis into his new home. He flopped out of the net and onto the floor and flopped around for a few seconds during the transport. Scared the crap out of me and I actually yelled.
Anyway, when I got him in he posed for a minute. I think it's his way of saying thank you for the new home.

What size tank is it in?
I want to set up a tank for one but first I need to get my other tank going good.

Wow thanks for all of the compliments everyone. And as Barry mentioned, thank God for Acrylic tanks. Mine is made 3/8 thick. I think he would definately bust a glass one. He hits the walls regularly. He is my favorite hands down. Although these guys are typically known as pests due to the fact that they will reap havok in a reef system, they are fascinating specimens and full of character.
The tank he is in is 18 or 19 gallons. I had it custom made at 17 by 21 and 12 inches high. I wanted a tank with a good footprint for him to roam around. I'll post some full tank pics tomorrow.
Thanks again!!!

Well since I have kept mantis shrimp housed with fish and inverts not attacked, I'd say differently. As long as the mantis is fed well, he should not go out looking for food. I have seen several other tanks with the smasher mantis shrimps housed with fish, even though the aquarist put the fish in there for food.
Nice mantis btw shogun, peacocks are probably the most colorful of the mantis shrimp and known to be very active and good personalities. Goodluck with him.
How large is the O.Scylarrus?

I will tell you what......I think that these are the best shots of a mantis that I have seen. This hobby has struck me HARD, and the wife and kids are jumping on board slowly but surely. There are nights where we'll be up looking at things, and they have been wanting to see a Mantis...I will show this thread tomorrow....Thanks for the great pics...can't wait to see the full tank shot!
