I do not believe that is true. If the clown fish were to get stung then it would also be paralyzed like any other fish, and then eaten. The reason that clowns and some damsels do not get stung is because of the slime coat the poses. When the anemone touches the clown it thinks it is touching itself.
Maybe Bang Guy will stop in and give a more detailed descriptions, but I believe what you were told id erroneous.

i myself would be worried if banguy were to read my post and i called clows nemos. IT'S JUST WRONG MAN!!!!!

hehe, my gf has got me calling our clown nemo lately. she's addicted to watching it wiggling in the small anenome. i also don't think it's a high, i forget what causes them to do that, but i think it's more a protection factor. i explained it to my gf as getting into bed with me and curling up in my arms. :notsure: now she wiggles and calls herself nemo.
