also hope he can't get a job in the NFL when he get out of prison.
mod edit=Please dont degrade anyone with posts that start with that only warning they don't steal dogs to fight them...they breed the dogs from fighting/aggressive bloodlines. And the choice of the dog is not what I am arguing, and I haven't mentioned race..none of that has anything to do with this... What I am arguing in that the attention and the inconsistancy of certain cases gives me the impression and others that our justice system is simply unjust in many cases. I've mentioned 3 cases in this thread and there are many others that I can use.
1. Vick possible 12-18 mo sentence
2. Pastor's Wife murder case released after 200 days
3. Georgian 17 yr old Teenager charged with molestation for having consensual relations with a 15yr old. sentenced to 10 yrs
Vick is being convicted of financing the operation but he didn't kill any dogs, yet people want him to get the maximum and not to continue with his job. Now the facts of these cases are different, but what I am saying here is that the sentences and the public outrage does not go with the crime.

I think people tend to empathize more with the innocent and vulnerable and weaker, and the dogs would fall into that category...as would an abused spouse. Not sure that I perceive that as a problem. Sometimes circumstances warrant leniency.
By normal standards the woman in the pastor case was not abuse by normal standards... he made her wear high hills when they were intimate. And the dogs are breed to be aggressive... how often do we hear about a pit biting someones face off or killing a child or person... we are not talking about your normal collie or cockerspanal house dog.

we haven't even heard or seen all of the evidence in the case so no one can say how much he did or didnt do but what we can say is that he was involved and had a hand in this by financially backing the endeavor-this much we know. with that being said rylan1 why would you WANT him to return to the nfl ? its not hard to live a clean life , its not hard to live within the laws of our country and when you have as much $$ as he was making it can't possibly be a difficult decision to give up the thug life and become a decent moral role model for the people that look up to you

i do not like pits at all but i know that they are not like that they have to be abused or trained or scared to get that way, there are many people that have them and they are peaceful friendly animals

People do steal pitbulls or other dogs and fight them or use them for bait dogs.I have owned pitbulls for 10 yr and been around them for 20 yrs and have not seen any of them like the way you say they are.I have seen chiwawa more aggressive the them.If you raise them like crap they are going to be aggressive any dog would be this way if you train them to be that way.People like vick and others in the dog fighting scene give these dogs a bad name.He better hope he only gets a yr to 18 months he better take it if he fight it he will be doing alot more for sure.

12-18..More like 12-60...5 year max..
They have pretty much now set it up where as if he doesnt take the plea deal they are charging him with Rackaterring(Sp)
As far as Genarlow Wilson goes...Of all things it was oral relations...Did you know that he also got off the hook for raping a 17 year old girl at the same party?
Digity...Nice looking dogs...

In the plea deal they are reviewing the recommendation is 12-18 months jail time. And based on the Wilson case, if he raped someone given the circumstances of the case I doubt he would have got off. I don't buy that especially since its a harsher offense

The reason they are saying is that she was too drunk to consent, and they dis-credited her as far as I know...I imagine the pros. is pissed about that so they gave him the max on the other charge..

Genarlow Wilson and a group of friends had the kind of bash no parent would want their teenager to attend. Crime scene investigators combing the room in a Days Inn in the small town of Douglasville, Ga., found evidence of drinking, as well as condoms and wrappers littered all over. Plus, there was a video camera.
In a portion of a tape obtained by "Primetime," Wilson, then 17 and an honor student and star athlete who was homecoming king, is seen having intercourse with a 17-year-old girl, who was seen earlier on the bathroom floor. During the --- act, she appears to be sleepy or intoxicated but never asks Wilson to stop. Later on in the tape, she is seen being pulled off the bed.

You may not have seen them this way, and I haven't seen any killer bees but I know they exist here. If you need evidence just ask yourself why they are banned in so many areas or require muzzels to walk down the street. But read any book on dogs and you'll see that the breed was bred to be naturally aggressive. Now I am not condoning what Vick did. I do think he is still entitled to earn a living in whatever field he is in. His job is not to be your kids rolemodel. Its to score TD's. And he can bounce back from this in some regards by using this incident to educate people.

Is she the one who pressed charges? NO. And does this constitute a crime? No... What crime was he charged with? ... The charge was based on a law that teenagers can not have relations together... so does this make him a child molester... that what the charge against him essentially is.

Mike Vick was a punk before he got busted. Only time will tell if he will be a punk afterwards but why anyone would look up to him at this point is beyond me.

This guy needs to take the plea, ADMITT he screwed, grow up and move on.

Like I sayed it comes down to how you raise them.I don't have kid for them to look up to him thank god.their alot of better player to look up to like L.Tomlison from the chargers,J Taylor from dolphing and many other that give 2 craps about kid and the way they look at them.It not a job to play football its a honor to play football
He better hope his judge is not a dog lover. Also with this 12 to 18 months plea.I will let everyone know something about the federal system in 2005 the federal system change the way the guide line work now it in the discretion of the judge what sentence he get not the prosecuter now like it was befor.
