Peppermints and polyps

I have some aptasia that I cant get at with Joes juice. Should I get some peppermints or will they destroy my yellow polyps and green star polyps ? Thanks

My peppermints have never bothered any of my zoo's or GSP, but then again, they never bothered the Aptasia either

I've seen Peppermints eat Yellow polyps.

Bang,if you were in this situation would you get the pepermints and possibly lose the polyps ? And hope they eat the aptasia. Thanks

Use kalk to kill the apstasia. Mix it into a paste, get it a little warm and feed it to them with a syringe.

I have Joes juice. Sometimes it works.They close up when I put the syringe near them. And I also hve some that I cant get at like behind the rocks etc. Thanks

my yellows were looking great then when i put peppermints in they vanished...wheather they had anything to do with it i don't know for sure but the timing is suspicous

From what I have read, yellow polyps are so similar to Aiptasia that any peppermint shrimp that will eat Aips will also eat yellow polyps.

There is a Aiptasia eating nudibranch. Though once the Aiptasia's are reduced the nudibranch will die.

Hey I recently bought some yellow polyps and they just dissappeared also..I have 4 peppermint shrimp, Guess you guys are onto something maybe

They usually die before they finish the job. Waste of money IMO.

Yup I've read that, thats why I said "reduced" not "finished". I have no personal experience with them though.

Maybe this thread started by Beth will help. I have also read here of pepps going after yellows, if you have to add pepps can you remove the yellows to a sump, fuge, or QT for the time being?

I'd like to try them if they aren't too expensive as my nano reef tank is becoming infested with the Aiptasia now.
