Have your perc's mated successfully in your tank yet ?

I bought one from mt lfs, it wouldn't eat I tried everything it died about 2 weeks after I bought it, then I orered one from swf.com this thing eat anything and everything, when I feed it flakes it almost takes them right out of my hands.

Sorry about your first fish ... But I am happy for you that the clown from SWF.com is working out great!

My clowns from SWF.com eat anything and everything too. They would eat all day long if I would feed them that much. Like I said before they are some of the healthiest specimens from SWF IMO.

6 weeks ago. They are 5 weeks old in the pic.

Wow, I posted a couple weeks ago about the new activity my 2 ocellaris were engaging in. I thought they might be mating but nothing yet, just the weird upsidedown dancing and rubbing! Mine were about the size of my pinkie fingernail (tank raised) 8 months ago. They are now almost 2" !!!! Healthy as can be! :happyfish :happyfish
I would NEVER buy fish from *****, But i get my puppies food there, so I always look at what fish they have in. Last week a family was happily buying 4 (Nemos) for a fresh water 5 gal tank they were buying that day! I asked if the fish were going in the new tank and the kids said yeah!!!!

The sales girl didnt even question them:nope: I told those people Nemos are SALTwater fish (ocean) fish! but they bought them anyway!!!!!

Great looking babies Bang!!!! Do you think mine are attempting to mate? or are they still too young?

They're probably too young but they are definately bonded

How do you know if the percs bond? My two chase each other around the tank, then stop, face each other, and act like they're yelling at each other. Pretty funny. Neither one is more dominate than the other. They're only about an inch long.

Instead of being chased the less dominant fish will turn on its side & shake to indicate a submissive posture.

Too many variables. Environment, temperature, feeding, tank mates, etc. all affect Clownfish maturity rates. Usually somewhere between 1 & 2 years.

Clowns are very hardy fish. I bought 2 false percs and beleive me theve been through hell, 2 moves. And they are both awesome and I love them... I would find it hard to kill em.
