Redsnapper, it's because they will lay eggs and it's a hastle when they are eggs and getting them together and what not. I never have experienced it but I have read books.

This is a bit late to tell you, but you should have gotten clowns with a bit more difference in size. The bigger one will be stronger and more dominant so she will be a female and the smaller one will be a male. They will probably not compete and fight as much.

well one of them is slightly bigger and that one is picking on the smaller one so i suppose that is going to be the female.
