my ph been very stable at 8.3 for years only lately i been doing water change everyday due to high no3. I just find out my ph now is only 7.8 same as new sw mix.
Should i just add ph plus?

NO!
Your PH indicates an excess of organic material that is decomposing. Find the clogged filter or pile of detritus and remove it.
If your Alkalinity is too low then it's fine to use an additive to raise it. But blindly adding chemicals to raise PH is almost always a mistake.

hi
is not my ph
i think something wrong with the test kit because i tested with a different test kit and the ph was fine.
but, my no3 keep raising. From 20ppm going up to 40ppm even with everyday 10% water change.
I been doing water change about 5 times a week for 2 weeks now.
my water parameter
ph 8.3
no3 40
no2 0
amm 0
alk 11dkh
cal 400
I have DSB and chaeto
Do you have any idea why this is happen

How long has the tank been running?
What livestock are present and what are you feeding them?
How much total waterflow do you have in the system?

the tank been running about 3 years now.
lots of softie, a clam, xenia, and more but i couldn't remember. The xenia and the clam seem slowly not doing well. I been reducing on feeding them but when i feed them i feed frozen cyclopeeze, pellets, and frozen brine shrimp.
Waterflow, I have 5 maxi-jet 1200 in a 58g which should be ok but they all around 3 years old as well with the tank too. It seem a little weak too.

ditch the brine shrimp, it's the equivalent of us eating potato chips. Mysis shrimp is much better for everyone.

with a DSB you should not be seeing nitrates that high. Have you cleaned the powerheads at all since you got the tank? Letting them run in a water and viniger solution for a day or so really helps them with better and stronger flow. Fish do love brine but I would feed mysis as well, a lot more benifitial, as stated before.

Good points by the above posters.
In addition, it's a little known factoid that some companies use Nitrates to preserve their Frozen Brine Shrimp.
A simple test of some Brine Shrimp in a cup of water will tell you a lot.

I check the brine shrimp and it has only 5ppm of nitrate
I don't get it?
Deep Sand Bed
Chaeto
Water Change Everyday
Nitrate is raising

Interesting point! Is there a known brand of mysis shrimp that do not contain Nitrates? Or are we to believe that this little amount doesn't actually harm your levels? I generally feed mysis shrimp only twice per week and let the fish and critters feed off of the reef naturally the rest of the week.

You say this just started after 3 years,I have to ask if you have bio-balls and or a great big round wad of filter media in your sump? There must be a cause for the nitrates to keep rising, water changes will not cure it they will keep your inhabitants alive but only postpone the inevitable. You must have a large source of detritus somewhere and if you still have great flow then I would be looking in your sump or anywhere things could collect or settle.

Besides everything above.. Have you also checked the NO3 level of your change water and top-off water?

very great point
I have 58 with 25 sump/fuge. No bio balls or any wad of filter media. No skimmer. It's always been fine that's why I didn't care. I would said there should be a lot detritus got trap down into the sump.
What should I do now or atleast is there a way for me to keep everything alive for about a month?

Did you put anything in there that might have disturbed the bacteria colonies(chemiclas, mixed up sand bed). Did you move the tank or a lot of rock around. What did you change?? You could always try getting a skimmer to remove organics. It will be cheaper in the long run then doing tons of water changes. Is there a lot of detritus in your sand bed and is your sand bed producing gas bubbles(shows bacteria colonies are alive and working). Good luck.
