Hello, I have been lurking around and asking some questions here and there.
Figured I'd put up some pics so everyone can see what I'm working with here and then I can show the progress from the humble beginnings. So far I've got:
3 penguin powerheads (two 660 & one 550) can unhook the venturi is need to.
1 ebo 100 watt heater
10lb bag crushed coral
hang on filter.
15 watt aqua sun light, upgradable to 22w with this hood.
I plan on getting a good protein skimmer and since I have the extra tank can make it a sump with cheato or similar algae to eat nitrates etc, if anyone thinks this is a good idea. I don't want to put a lot of heavy feeders in there.
Also will be getting some live rock pretty soon and will post pics once I do.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I plan on doing live rock inverts and clowns

NICE TANK...BUT....first it's good you have nothing live yet....I would get rid of the coral and get Live Sand and Live Rock (yes I saw you are going to get the rock)
20lbs of each......Take out the fake decorations, and definitely get those air tubes off the powerheads....
Once you get your live sand and live rock, you can begin your cycling process.

Yeah, I'm going to look around for some live rock right now and get the fake decorations out.

I got the fake decorations out and hooked up the third powerhead down low. I am still hunting around for a good deal on some live/base rock. There's a shrimp slowly decomposing in there (you can see it inside the rock cave) so by the time the ammonia levels are down again I should be ready to add some inverts or something. I am looking into buying a coralife 65 skimmer, or going with a refugium. I like them both. Oh, I have an ugf, can I still put sand in there, and if so can I go to a beach and pick some up there? Lastly, what makes that kind of rock special? Could I go to a park beach and pick up some rocks from there? I mean there are bridges with rock all over, etc.
