wow squid thanks for the pics. in one of the pics do you have a fuge with no sump? if it is possible i think that's the route i'm headed for because i want to maximize the size of the fuge maybe a 40 tall. is it even possible to have a fuge and no sump? how many systems do you have setup?
Don't worry Red soon you will be annoyed at harvest time instead on anticipating it.
thanks both of you great setups.

Are you asking about the 20+45...?
The 45 is the glass tank and to the left of it you'll see a "rubber maid" tub (20) which is the sump...
However if you look at the left side of the 45 you will see a cutout, shelf and overflow draining into the sump...
Now if you (or I) were to take that 45 and place it up next to the main tank with that "lip" overflowing into the main tank...All you would need is a powerhead in the MT to "feed" the fuge and it would drain back...T
That set up would be a fuge/no sump...

Squidd, thanks for the fast reply. i suppose i can jsut baffel what ever tank i get for my fuge (still looking around) do you recomend glass or acrylic? i can work with either but i know people have preferences for certain reasons. and yes i was talking about your 20+45 system. If i get say another 30 for the fuge then what is a good measure for sump size? i like the rubbermaid idea but i just don't have that much room unless i go for a 10g fuge which i think is to small. i plan on trying to get at least 75 - 80 gallons in the whole system. that means i need to fill about 45-50 gallons somehow. again thanks squidd

I'm not sure I'm following you here...
You have a 30 gallon tank and want to get another 30 for the fuge but you want 75-80 gallon total...?
So are you thinking of "another" 20 for the sump...??
Or are you still thinking of the 40 ...??
And how much flow do you want to put through this...?
And "why not" an above tank fuge no sump..?

BTW...I like glass...It's cheap to free to get..tools are inexpensive and silicone in readily available...

Hey red. Is that crushed coral in your fuge? I have live sand but it only about 2 inches deep. I want it to be about 4 inches deep. (Don't I?? :notsure: ) So can I just mix in some crushed coral with the live sand?

It Coral-Sea, the larger stuff. 4" or better is recomended, my fuge is not that deep so I am limited to about 4".
I understand that crushed coral will work in a plenum, but I chose the aragonite.
