I was thinking about putting him in my 72 bow front. Just kidding I am putting a 1000 gallon tank in my basement soon he will not out grow that since they hardly every get bigger than 4 feet. He should not be in the pond more than 6 months.
Mike and I finished the pond about a week ago. He has been doing most of the work here lately.(Sorry mike lol!) I supplied the pump which is a 1/6 HP Seahorse pump that does 3000gph. We are running about 4200 bioballs in another rubbermaid container(see pics). The first pic with me in it gives a refrence of how big it is. We maybe have $500 in it right now. Its really easy guys, may not be the best looking set up but it works!! More pics to come soon!
Very Very nice. A good idea for that basement is to finish a room. Put the 1000 in it and some chairs and couches and a t.v. or stero. So you can just go down and relax. Nice a/c fans.. YUM YUM
Do you have a picture of inside the rubbermaid filter? Also what skimmer are you using? Sorry for all of the questions, I'm designing the filtration for my pond now. I've secured the funding from the financial department(wife) and now it's time to firm up plans.

I can not remember what kind of skimmer is. I took a 50 gallon Rubbermaid tote and put a 1.5 inch bulk head to drain to the pump. I then took about 8 3 inch pieces of PVC pipe that were cut to be about 2 inch above the drain. Then we went to homedepot and got a peice of that white mess stuff that is in the bottom of most wet dry filters that hold the bio balls from getting in to return. I have about 4500 bio balls in the wetdry then I put a peice of filter floss across all the bio balls to keep the crap up of them. Then I put a tray on top of the filter floss that makes the water go across all the bioballs. It is pretty simple but I do not have any pictures.
That's what I had thought, I just thought I would see if I was missing something. I think I'm going to make my own also. It doesn't make sense to spend huge amounts for something fairly easy to make. What livestock are you putting in your pond?
