sotheres not a single type of pipe which would be like a dwarf seahorse that could go in a 10 cuz at my LFS they have 2 pipes in mby a10gal mby smaller and there not for sale so there just there on display and not there temporaraly
well my 3 pipes are in my 10g with my dwarves! I will be moving them to the 75g when they get big enuf but they seem fine and happy where they are now!!
They are really sweet fish....when I turn the lights on in the morning they all gather as if to be saying hello to each other!!! I love my pipes!!!
so if get 1 or mby 2 will they be okay for there whole life, and will the do okay in a reef? with like rics, zoos, shroom, and some LPS?
o ya and are they okay with LR and stuff...
what kind of pipe fish do you have NY?
I dont know a lot about pipes, but i do know they can reach a length of about 8 inches. they are mostly wild caught, and would need special care, such as live food and worming.
There is a dwarf pipe -- Cosmocampus Hildebrandi -- but dont know anything about them, such as size or care.

I found that they are easier to start in a smaller tank like a 10 gallon. I put some into a larger reef and they all died, probably starved to death. Just like the dwarf seahorses, it was easier to target feed them in the smaller tank because the food was more concentrated.
I was thinking of putting them in my 75g with my other seahorse (tiger tail) they also have started to eat frozen so I assume they would feed on that
I also offer them live brine and of course the newly hatched bbs when I feed the dwarves
I do have to say it is very easy to observe them n the 10g and make sure they are all eating well.
I have been debating putting them in the 75g for about 2 weeks now
hmmmm I will keep pondering over it for a bit......I dont want to seperate them b/c I dont know how long they have really been together. Like I said they really enjot being together and I do not want to loose one if I took him away from the others.......kinda like sh's they do better in pairs or groups
