I didn't know non-citizens rights were protected by the bill of rights.
the time that a VP serves after the pres died (like the time that LBJ served when JFK was killed) is not a term. a president can only serve 2 terms.
don't take this the wrong way, but I wouldn't advertise that I didn't know my 2 state senators' names. that's common knowledge that everyone should no without excuse.

Well how about this then, would it be wrong to "Not wanting it known publically to be associated in the same state with them " Best part is just remember the ones your not keen about getting elected, the rest will fall into place.

The way to approach this situation is to give every Mexican a US Tax ID number and open our border completely. If they choose to work in the states they will pay taxes, if not then they still have the option but are not required to pay income tax. Basically set it up as a commonwealth. THEN we help them seal their southern border. Their border is MUCH smaller and easier to monitor. Voila! Instant drop in South American drug trade and Mexico and the US are MUCH richer. It really would be a win-win situation. Mexican citizens would not be elligible to vote but would be legal to work. The Mexican southern border would also require only a handful of troops as opposed to thousands. As far as language is concerned....I agree that they should at least be able to communicate clearly in English. However, we do not have an official language which means that it is not illegal or even wrong for them to speak their native tongue. We have just as much responsibility to learn Spanish if we know we will be working with them. Our forefathers had the foresight to understand that if we were to truly be a nation of free souls then we could not put limitations on language and creed (later race). Ever go to france or certain parts of germany where they wont even look at you if you cant speak their language FLUENTLY?? Its the same thing. Prejudice. The only difference is that they do have an official language. And to whoever said that having multiple official languages doesnt work I beg to differ. Most EU countried have at least 2 official lanaguages and often times many more.

Your joking right? this would never work because these people do not want to become Americans. They want to take over. They have no desire to comply with our laws or learn our language, thier loyalty lies with Mexico. They arent waiving American flags either or even attempting to learn our language or respect our laws, they thumb thier nose at our laws, its obvious that they have no desire to assimilate into our culture.
The RMS Titanics hull was torn open by an iceberg on 15 April 1912 at first the water began to rush in, 3 boiler rooms were under water within the first 10 minutes. The water kept rushing in until the entire ship was eventually pulled under. If the hull would have been shored the flooding would have been managable. Our borders arent trickling theyre flooding now and our country is sinking because of this.
Pontius is right on this one.

most decent middle schools teach the Constitution. My daughter would know most of those questions thankfully. The Const. was completed in 1787 and effective in 1789.......according to her.......

interesting comparison. another thing about the Titanic is that if they had chosen to hit the iceberg head-on, the ship would have stayed afloat with only one boiler room being flooded, but they instead tried to skip around the issue. this also holds true with the illegal immigrant problem.....if our leaders accept the known fact that it's a problem and face it head-on, we can fix the problem for everyone concerned. but if we try to dance around it like the leaders are now trying to do, it's going to sink this ship.

analogies, analogies. honestly though, at this point in history, you can draw a comparison between the US and a sinking ship. I'm not happy about that, but some things have got to be fixed or we're going to be past the point of repair. a war going nowhere and the second we leave the Shiites are going to take over Iraq which means basically that Iraq becomes part of Iran. and Iran is at a standoff with the world and we are spread too thin to do anything about it. and we (or at least this administration) is forgetting why we supposedly ever went to the middle east to begin with which was to catch the animals responsible for 9/11. now we've got this problem with the border, global warming, and oil companies getting richer. some things definitely need changing fast.

This email is from a retired former teacher friend whose wife is a teacher in the Riverside,CA area, and has been for many, many years. The attached is first hand knowledge...
Consider cheap tomatoes
As you all listen to the news about the student protests over illegal immigration there are some things that you should be aware of.
As most of you know my wife is in charge of the English-as-a-second-language department at large southern California high school, which is designated a Title 1 school, meaning that its students average lower socio-economic and income levels. Most of the schools you are hearing about-South Gate High, Bell Gardens, Huntington Park, etc.-where these students are protesting, are also Title 1 schools.
My wife tells me that 100% of the students in her school and other Title
1 schools are on the free breakfast, free lunch program. When I say free breakfast I'm not talking a glass of milk and roll... but a full breakfast and cereal bar with fruits and juices that would make a Marriott proud. The waste of this food is monumental, with trays and trays of it being dumped in the trash uneaten.
She estimates that well over 50% of these students are obese or at least moderately overweight. About 75% or more DO have cell phones.
The school also provides day care centers for the unwed teenage pregnant girls (some as young as 13) so they can attend class without the inconvenience of having to arrange for baby-sitters or having family watch their kids.
She was ordered to spend $700,000 on her department or risk losing funding for the upcoming year even though there was little need for anything; her budget was already substantial. She ended up buying new computers for their computer learning center; half of which, one month later, have been carved with graffiti by the appreciative students who obviously feel humbled and grateful to have a free education in America.
She has had to intervene several times for young and substitute teachers whose classes consist of many illegal immigrant students here in the country less then 3 months who raised so much hell with the female teachers, calling them "Putas"-whores-and throwing things that the teachers were in tears.
Free medical, free education, free food, day care etc., etc., etc. Is it any wonder they feel entitled to not only be in this country but to demand rights, privileges and entitlements?
To my conservative friends: I hope you're really proud of how George W. Bush has helped to sell-out this country with his pro-illegal policy. I voted for him too, but on this issue he is a disaster.
To my bleeding-heart liberal friends who want to point out how much these illegal immigrants contribute to our society because they LIKE their gardener and housekeeper and they like to pay less for tomatoes: spend some time in the real world of illegal immigration and see the TRUE costs. Higher insurance, Medical facilities closing, higher medical costs, more crime, lower standards of education in our schools, overcrowding, new diseases etc., etc., etc. For me, I'll pay more for tomatoes.
We need to wake up. The guest worker program will be a disaster because we won't have the guts to enforce it. Does anyone in their right mind really think they will leave and return voluntarily?
There are many hardworking Hispanic/American citizens that contribute to our country and many that I consider my true friends. We should encourage and accept those Hispanics who have done it the right and legal way.
It does, however, have everything to do with culture: A third-world culture that does not value education, that accepts children getting pregnant and dropping out of school by 15 and that refuses to assimilate ... and an American culture that has become so weak and politically correct that we don't have the will to do anything about it.

Very well put, politicians will do whats popular. Thats the problem, most are flip flopping cowards when it comes to doing whats right. Im dissappointed with all of them on this issue. The proper decision needs to be made by someone who cares more about whats right then making friends.
