It skidded on the rain slicken tarmac and went into an embankment, I guess the landing gear was torn off and the engines released from the wings. Its a christmas miracle that everyone got out of that mess alright!

Flying into Sangster is wild.. The end of the runway where you touch down is SUPER close to the water.. I remember looking out the first time and seeing the ocean getting way to close just when I thought we were going to hit the water you hear the tires hit the tarmac..

bad things happen but flying is still the only way to travel IMO
skid off a runway or interstate pile up..... about the same
only pile up is like 1000 times more likely

I agree...plane crashes happen less often, however...fewer people walk away from a plane crash than a car accident. There are a lot more car accidents, but there are also a LOT more survivors of car accidents than survivors of plane crashes. I have flown, not exactly one of my favorite things to do, but I would much rather have control of things myself and drive. I hate putting my life on the line with some stranger in the pilot's seat.

LOL...if I have engine trouble I'd rather be able to pull over to the side of the road...then be 20,000 or more miles up in the sky...and fall out of it

holy smokes that looked close. If the water was any higher or high tide.......I think this story would have been a lot worse.
Anyone ever fly into Grand Cayman????
