Pic is not the best, but hope someone can ID this growth on LR
It is a real pale lavender color--almost a dirty white--started as a white spongy type growth, but has very quickly formed "tenacle" like arm things protruding from it. (Looks stringy) There are also holes in some of the growth--but I have never seen anything come out or go in.
Sorry for the terrible description--Thanks in advance for any help.
P.S. Tank has been up and running for approx 2 years with no problems-- The only thing I have done differently is I recently changed my light bulbs--(same wattage, same bulb, just put new ones in cause I figured the other ones were getting old)

Looks like some type of caulerpa which is a macro algae and fish will eat it. Some inverts too. Nothing to worry about unless is starts spreading rapidly which it won't do if something is eating it....

I have something that looks exactly like it. If you look on the purple sponge that you have growing there you will see the fibers coming off of that. My sponge uses those threads to spred to other rocks and such. I have never heard that they can do any kind of damage whatsoever. I just think that they look really cool. And they're kinda pretty too :D

Thanks for the help. I was getting worried that it was something no good that may "take over" my tank.
