I have asked elsewhere but gotten little response: I am considering getting a tank with Puffers and Triggers (amongst other aggressive fish), but also want some kind of invert (which I know are at risk with those guys). Are anemones (along with their Clown occopants) OK? If most crabs will end up as dinner, how do I keep the tank free of algae and other bad stuff??

Hi Mr. Puff,
Anemone & Trigger compatability depends on the type of Trigger, same with Clownfish & Triggers. I suggest leaving Anemone until you have a bit more experience with saltwater tanks.
You might want to post this same question over in the aggressive forum. We have some really talented people in there.

Thanks, guy. I'm still in research mode, so I don't want to do anything hasty. I've posted in other forums, without too much response, but am realizing my options more and more.

like bang said its a tuff call but most anything that you add with puffers and trigger (like the clowns) they are going to see them as a meal. and the eating habits of the puffers and triggers I dont think an anemone will last all that long. the more aggressive the fish (in general) the messier the eater which can cause water quality issues for corals.

Bang guy, I just noticed that you're from WNY....where abouts? I moved to metro Detroit five years ago, but grew up in the Falls!

Sounds like the Jamestown area, or at least near the PA border. I just thought it was cool to see someone from "home". I guess I'll do some more research Sunday while watching the Bills win!
