TO THE PVC PIPE THAT IS GOING TO SLIP INTO THE BALL VALVE
...CORRECT?
IF YES, THEN JUST SILICONE THAT ALSO...THOSE
SPIRAL HOSES DO NOT EVEN NEED TO BE SILICONED
BECAUSE THEY ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO
PULL OFF OF PVC ANYHOW...BUT IF YOU FEEL BETTER...
BY ALL MEANS SILICONE IT....I SILICONED MINE...

the clear tubes is what I'm saying and I think you were talking about too...
just don't want to confuse it with those pool hoses. those are different.

Todd,
This may be too late. Make sure that the location of the coupler is accessible. Just think about in the future if you have to remove the coupler. Do you access to it and can you get a wrench to it. If it is stuck between the wall and the aquarium it will not do you much good.

DIP THE END OF THE HOSE IN THE WATER FOR 5-10 SECONDS AND THEN PUSH IT ONTO THE BARBED END...ITS EASY THEN...
IF THATS THE WAY YOU WANT TO DO IT...THEN THE SLIP W/THE
BARBED END WILL BE SILICONED INTO THE BALL VALVE AND

here is a plastic hose clamp, the photo is terrible because my batteries on my camera are too low after the last pic to get a photo with a flash. at any rate, the plastic clamp is shaped more like the letter "C" with teeth on one end and notches on the other end to accept the teeth, kinda like a zip tie works. hard to explain, but if you ask for a locking plastic hose clamp at any place that sells pipe and hoses they will be able to get ya one for like 30 cents.

started on the silicone and pvc cement last night. made some minor modifications to the setup...more couplers.
still waiting on the bulkheads to arrive so I can drill the Steriline sump. should have pix to post soon enough

at the store for about $600 or so. it's a tool used for web graphics. I've been using it for about 6 years. it's part of my job.
you could use ms-paint or powerpoint to whip up something similar...

taken a few days ago... since then, I built a shelf for the refuge. still need to install the bulkheads on the containers...hopefully today.

Did you use PVC primer? If you did , sweet job.
This may be stating the obvious but try and put the bulkheads on the containers in an area that is as vertical as possible. I would recommend installing the bulkheads first and the plumbing to the bulkheads second.

I cemented only to the ball valves, so once I do install the bulkhead, I'll fit the pvc around it...after. gotcha.
