Powder brown tang help

I have a powder brown tang that was doing great. Then today I noticed it was sideways & gasping for air..... I put him in a quarantine tank with an air stoNE & his doing a little better but not normal or healthy.... all else in the tank is fine, he was eating last night.... anyone know what might be the problem?

Check to ensure your skimmer is working properly. It sounds to me like a excess of CO2 in the water. What's the current temperature, salinity, and PH?

Temp is 78 & pH is 7.6.... hiw would I go about getting my CO2 down. Thanks for the help!!

If your tank is covered, take off the cover. If you can get air from outside into the tank through the air stone that helps too.

Also make sure the skimmer isn't clogged up.

Increasing waterflow helps too. Especially across the water surface.
