I was looking at the rios which I'm pretty sure its direct. Would a 200-300gph be good?

SWAB if your putting talking about a 150g tank one of those on each end would be perfect pointed indirectly would really create so good flow. Personally I would recommend as much flow as possible w/o disturbing the sandbed. In my tank when all said and done around 12000gph in my upcoming barebottom 220. That is somewhere around 55x turnover per hour. I do mainly sps, but have tons of lps that love the flow in my 75g around 50x turnover as the sps do.
