precipitation event in my replacement water

Damn...did something dumb I know, wont do it again...
I mixed up my 5 gal replacement water last night in my bucket with powerhead etc .
All parameters are getting closer and closer to perfect, clac (was 360, now almost 400)and alk (was around 6 meg/l and is now 4.5 meg/L) etc...but i noticed lately my ph is dropping a bit...it went from 8.2 to around 8 in the last week, so I figured I needed to buffer that a bit. Well, I added the 2 tablespoons of kent superbuffer dkh to the 5 gal mix before bed last night (powerhead etc still mixing it) as per instructions
Woke up to a precipitation event in the bucket...sides and powerhead etc covered with the "dust"
What I want to know is, should I just dump this water, or is it stil safe to use?
Did the event take out any trace elements and "lock" them up?
Should I just mix vigorously by hand? what should I do?
Thanks!

The water is safe to use but if you test it you will find a low PH, low Calcium, ALK, and Magnesium.
If it were me I would discard the water and mix a new batch.
Additives should be added to the tank (slowly), not to the makeup water.

the foolish thing, is I knew this already-to add to tank only-since you told me that a couple of weeks ago, and I even POSTED to someone else this fact when a question was raised about adding to tank or mixing water!
Im a better coach sometimes than player
Problem was, in my head, when i read the instructions for the buffer, it said "mix in a cup until dissolved then add to tank or sump" and like an idiot, i figured, well if it doesnt precipitate in a cup, how could it in a 5 gal bucket!!!!!
Dumb.
Ill just chuck the water and start again...thanks!

I don't expect people to blindly follow my opinions. This hobby is still more art than science so trying things against the grain is still a really good way to gain experience.

Hey Bang, believe me, Im not one to follow blindly, except in the fact that everything you have told me to date is correct, and other posts I have read by you solidify that fact. Im sure ya make mistakes sometimes

I did check the ph yesterday...whew....was like 7.4 so I didnt even bother with any further testing. Made a new batch of water so im all set...
Thanks guy!
