With the title of the thread being "presidential office"; I have a feeling that this thread will be updated every 5 seconds. Anyways, yes, I think that if a person is charged and proven guilty of any crime, they should be disqualified to be the president of the united states.

No. There is no legal disqualification based on those factors.
Do you mean from a voter perspective?

Just because someone is charged with a crime does not mean they are guilty. Does anyone remember the phrase innocent before proven guilty?

herman cain is my point...i see no difference between the accusations towards him and Former President Clinton. Jfk was promiscious...no secret........Both of those Presidents were able to perform their duties as president well. so do the accusations towards herman affect his ability to be President?

The main thing here is that Clinton and JFK's fun times came to light after they were in office. Although J Edgar knew about JFK right along. Don't get me started on J Edgar! This is a family site.

Would this prevent Cain or anyone else from fulfilling the office of president? I'd have to say no.

No, but would you really vote for a guy who has sexual harassment charges filed against him? Who is also promoting a 9-9-9 plan?

AFAIK legal charges have never been levied as there has not been sufficient evidence. If he is lying then I, personally, don't think he should get the nomination. A lie detector would be enough for me at this point.

I still think it was halarious when someone asked him about the sexual harassment charges brought against him... he broke out in a song/hymn about Jesus...

I personally think Romney has the best shot at knocking out 0bama so I really don't care what happens with Cain but judging by the way this is playing out I have a gut feeling he's telling the truth. Could be wrong but if he had done this stuff I would think more would be coming out and it seems to be dying down.

Newt and Ron Paul (the crazy guy) have the best chance at getting the country back on track. If only that were important to the average voter.

Regardless of the whole Cain conspiracy, I still don't like his plans...
I think Mitt Romney has a really good chance of winning the election...
