Problem Please Help

So I got a false percula clownfish about 3 days ago and for the past 2 days it has only been swimming at the top of the tank. Is this normal while it is getting used to it's new environment? Or is there something I should be worried about my tank's water? Anyone with advice or knowledge please help

is it in the corner at the top? mine did that when i first introduced them...but thats because i didnt have very much rock at the time. do you have any places in the rockwork for it to hide? i dont know what else would cause that...you could test your water if you are worried about that. im sure someone else can help

It just basically stays at the top but at different spots during the day. I do have a good amount of rock, and have enough oxygen in the tank because I have a air stone. And when I feed it it eats but just stays at the top

WELCOME!
Clowns are corner huggers...but hanging near the top could mean it wants oxygen...what kind of power heads are you using and what size tank?

We posted at the same time...saltwater tanks do not use air stones, we use power heads..air stones cause micro-bubbles and it can kill your fish.

Well techinaclly its a volcano that has a red light and creates bubbles. And I have a canaster filter with my tank.

My clown lived at the top of the tank for a long time when my damsel started picking on him. When I moved her to a different tank she stayed at the top for several weeks until she got comfy and then started swimming around. She still sleeps at the top. If you O2 is fine, I'm guessing it's just getting used to it's surroundings.

It sounds like a freshwater tank decoration...you need power heads to create a current..or you are going to run into all kinds of problems..rock and sand need the flow to stay clean...you are going to have cyano and hair algae. Dead spots are created because you don't have flow...the current is the life of the ocean, you are trying to recreate the ocean for your critters so they can live. (I hope)

That's what I was hoping. I just checked my water levels and everything is fine. So hopefully everything will turn out fine

Well I'll put all of these suggestions into consideration. I will get a power head.

No, bigger is best...for a 10g tank you need a #1 Korlia power head that sould give you plenty of flow...get rid of the decoration.

Well the bubble can be turned off, so can I turn the bubbles off and just keep the volcano right?
