Problem with corals/inverts...

I am puzzled by a problem with my reef setup. The tank is a 75 gal w/85 lbs live rock.. established about 7 months ago. Well... I went to a RO system.. and as soon as I changed over, all of my inverts started dying.. I mean EVERYTHING.. starfish, corals, snails... I'm trying to figure it out.. I got in my test kit today for copper.. and nothing.. I treated a ich problem in a hospital tank.. I'm just trying to find out what could have killed all my inverts.. I suspected it to be copper, cause all the fish looked the best they have looked in weeks. I have 2X150 MH 2X130 PC acintic lighting. Now i'm not so sure. How can all my inverts die, and my fish not look affected if it's not copper?.. are inverts sensitive to higher water temps? I now suspect my salinity was low with 1.022.. i know it should have been 1.025/35ppt.. but would that wipe everything out?

How high are the temps?
Have you tested your water parameters for anything else?
Did you toss out the first few gallons of the new ro/di water?
What are you mixing your water in? (is it clean)

1.023
ph 8.2 (was 7.8 one time so I had to add PH buffer)
temp 83 (range 80-83)
Amm 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
I am about to upgrade to a 150, and I plan on adding a CO2/ph stabilizer..
I just don't get why I would lose all my inverts. I tossed out the first 10 or so
gallons from my RO.
I'm mixing my water in 2 clean 5 gallon buckets w/powerheads..heaters.

I won't buy anymore until i switch over to the 150 gal.. I'm thinking maybe a contamination from 1 dying.. just wipped out everything else.. not sure why it didn't affect the fish.. I think I will get a ph stabilizer.. do anything to avoid cause i lost 5 corals.. not fun
