hmmm mine looks different than that. whats that white n blue thing? looking at the first pic the pump is connected to the left side?
edit: looks like urs is bh-100F. has an extra chamber so the pump is inside the skimmer and not in the tank?

there also a simple solution to the microbubble problem: get some PVC pieces 1 T and 2 90 elbows, remove the elbow thats on the bottom of the return line stick on the T and the 90's so they point towards the surface. this way the bubbles get smooshed together in the PVC so there bigger and float to the surface and not are blown around ur water column. ill get a pic of mine tomorrow an post it for ya

At the store where i bought it they told me to put bioball in it to stop the microbuble but i dont realy want to do that because i am often going to clean the bioball!

I'm going to post pics tonight when I get off work. Hopefully, we can fix this!!!!! At least its comforting to know others have had this problem. But why would it work great in the vinegar/water solution and then work like sh*! in the actual tank??

Help!!! Here are some photos of my skimmer.....Please help as any advice would be appreciated. Essentially this is what it does the entire time. Sometimes it overflows and it also pumps so many bubbles into the tank that the fish are freaked. It doesn't pull anything from the tank. Has anyone ever had this problem?

ok i didnt know this thread was hijacked. gohabsgo i shouldnt even try to answer you cuz ur a canadians fan
j/k, you have the 100-F model and are just having microbubble problem? no overflowing? if so my little PVC trick will work for you, i really will post a pic today

newfishfiend08 i have the exact same model as you. you are having microbubble and over flowing huh? can you get a pic or two of the whole skimmer? and a product/serial # off the pump. it appears to be doing its job a little to well like the pump it came with is to big for this model. theres nuthing pluging that open piece on the return line is there?

looking at the right side of ur last pic: i took the little black sponge that came with the skimmer and put it in the top there to stop some bubbles

I cant help at all but that is one GREAT foam head from a small hang on back! If you could block off the top on the right side it seems to be working awsome. looks like the pump may be drawing more air than the body can handle. my sump octopus looks pitiful compared to that foam head though.

heres the pick of my DIY microbubble problem solver

just remove the elbow that came with the skimmer and stick the middle piece of the T on the return line

I've been messing around with the skimmer's air intake. When I examined it the line seemed to be making a gurgling sound... so i attempted to suck whatever water was in there out. Boy was I shocked when I got a mouth full of saltwater! However, the large foam head seemed to get smaller.... Could my problem be do to water in the air intake? I'm working on getting additional photos.

I do have a silencer but its currently not attached to the air hose. The pumps model number is king225f... does it work better if you take the cover off. I've just plugged the small hole that leads to the output chamber and it seems to be working nicely. Has anyone else tried that... will it make the skimmer overflow?

the silencer goes on the top of the outlet pipe

So... I'm still not having any luck with the skimmer. The collection cup is picking up slightly brown water but not much else. The output chamber still has extremely high foam peaks that tend to over flow.... I notice more brown foam in this chamber than the imput/ collection cup. Should I see if i can return the skimmer..... I've been trying for more than two weeks to get it to work...

What kind of water conditioner are you using? I had to switch to one that would work with a protein skimmer...there are a few out there. I got the instant ocean version on sale at ***** a few months ago. Just a thought :)
