i have about 60 of these now in my reef tank, unfortunately the only way i know of so far to control them is to remove the rock, i dont want to kill them but they are over growing my other corals and they reproduce so rapidly, as in i started with 3 and have already removed 2 large pieces of live rock but they keep coming, any ideas would be helpful

IMO they are none of the above they are Mojano anemones, pest anemones, very colorful but also a very big pain. They have a bubble tip appearance to them.

How big are those. I was under the impression that Majano stayed relatively small, size of a quarter or so.

They are Tulip Anemone, a close relative to Mojano. If you want to maintain a polulation of them then you need to become skilled at removing them. They like to release and attach somewhere else when it gets crowded.
A wooden skewer will allow you to scrape them off the rock fairly easily.

when I have nuisance anemones i squirt them with some bouiling water from a turkey baster. I have only done this with ones the size of a die. They kinda melt away. I guess it wouldnt hurt to try?

they are the size of a quarter and when ever i see one on the glass i get rid of it but for the most part they stick to the rocks, if i use the boiling water will there remains poison anything else in the tank
