I was thinking about Rodman, and including him, but he's not as bad as these other guys. He managed to win championships and to stay on the floor for the most part. He just partied a lot, and made a lot of money off his crazy personality.
I'm thinking of guys like Rae Caruth, the recent player who died for the cardinals, the hockey player who hired a hitman, Jayson Williams...or people like Ryan Leaf basically people who ruined careers based on addiction, crime, or a lack of work ethic.

I don't know how Jordan, Barkley, or Irvin self destructed. They are all in the HOF.

Well granted JORDAN and BARKLEY are continued HOF players and role-models BUT had/have sever gambling problems and Michael Irving could have had much much more if it werent for his bad CRACK problem.

Irwin is off of drugs and seem to be a good guy. Many pro athletes have gambling issues...but who cares if Jordan does, he's worth at least 500 million though a lot of that went to his ex-wife. If anyone can blow 100K he can, its not really a problem if it doesnt compromise your life and you'll never miss it.
Irvin = HOF and 3 rings... how much more can you accomplish?

Are you talking about the guy with 6 rings, re-wrote the record books and is generally regarded as the best basketball player ever? Not to mention that he has more money than god. You cannot claim that he self destructed.
But I will agree that he is NOT a role model.

Professionally he's a role model...He's a role model to other athletes because of his accomplishments on the court and the business world. His personal life should be private...same with A-Rod...
Just the fact that he wanted to try something he hadn't played since he was a kid is very admirable, and he said in his opinion he didn't fail.. then he came back to the NBA and won 3 more 'Ships... remarkable to me. Regardless of what happened in Washington, his legacy is still in tact. He should really have 9 rings.

Disagree about Vick...I am hoping the ASPCA gives him the run through on this...All that mess at the Airport, The "Alleged" dog fighting...They say that the house had been under observation for quite some time, they were just waiting on a slip up......

If Vick did in fact fought dogs or knowlingly knew about what was going on, then I say throw the book at him. This is no excuse for these actions. What I was saying, is lets not stone him now. Let the facts sort themselves out, and what happens, happens.
