Propogating Star Polyps

I have a large amoun of star polyp growth on a large rock. It has pretty much run out of room to grow but has sent out what looks like feelers to search for other areas.
I'm considering excising one of these runners and trying to attach it to my back glass. I thought it would look great spreading along the glass. Has anyone tried this?
Here is a picture of the "feeler" that I'm taking about. Can I cut it and glue or hold it against the glass?
Any thoughts would be great. This is a first (propogating) for me.

To prop star polyps, Just tear them off. Very simple. You can then take a rubberband and wrap them around a rock and let them grow again...

just to expand on what wamp said... grasp one or more of the feelers and peel it back off the rock. Take a LOT of the colony off so it has room to grow. Then you can cut the pice or just attach it to a rock. For the back glass, it will work but it's tricky. Clean off a spot completely using a razor and a scrubber. Super glue will attach it but it's difficult to get the edges to attach and grow along the glass. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't.
