I finally set up my 125. 40 lbs crushed coral covered by 60 lbs of sand 20lbs of live? sand and my buddy gave me a 5 gallon bucket of his sand from a tank hes breaking down. Pretty good depth. He also gave me about 65lbs of rock out of his tank. I put everything in; no fish. I was going to cycle the tank w/ lr first but didnt expect to get his sand and rock. I hope this speeds up the cycle. salinity is1.026/27 no filter. Iwas gonna put a fluval 40 on it but am waiting for a part. I want to put a cheap skimmer on the tank something I can throw away when I have more money for a permanent skimmer. It has to hang on the small side of a 125 or go in the tank(id prefer in the tank). It has to be cheap because I need to buy more rock. Any ideas?

Given the criterea of cheap/throw away..look at the Coralife series

I was thinking the same thing myself. Maybe even jebo. something in the 50 $$ range. maybe something that will last 4-6 months. i found a coralife super skimmer on an auction site. i used to have a visajjet ps in '92 on my 29 gallon that made great foam for about 2 months then I think it just turned into a decoration in the tank. But that tank was wrong from the start. Lighting was bad mainly but people didnt give me the info then that i get now.

i need another large dog like I need another fish tank, 2.5, 30, 55, and 125. aint much room left in this shoebox we live in and we,re adding a little girl in about 3 wks. As for the rotttie ; you heard of sleepin with the fishes? Well she sleeps with the kitties. lol. I still need a skimmer
