Restarting after a 3 yr layoff. My old koralias don't work, and I need new pumps. My question is what is better ev1400 or the nanostream 6045? I need a good, cheap replacement. Tank is a 55, no sump, will only have 3-4 small fish and some easy corals. Thanks

When you say don't work. Do you mean they wont start up? Do you feel a vibration when you plug them in? I have had pumps that wouldn't start do to being seized up by calcium and other deposits that had hardened on them. Try soaking them in a bucket with equal parts vinegar and water for 24 hours then wipe them down and see if they will start.

Agree a good soaking, but I'm spoiled I like all the options mentioned for replacements though......I love a drill tank with a CL, and I own both Tunzes and Vortechs......All very good choices depending how involved you want to get in the process.....
