How do you treat ticks on fish FLower, J/K my friend - I am beginning to think that I should just leave them alone for a bit.
I looked at them on line and I don't think that pictures really give them justice, their doral fins are amazing dark reds and yellow. The spotted lined flasher is unbelievably beautiful his doral fin is stunning - they are going to look great in the DT.
LOL...I didn't know how else to put it. I had some dispars years ago, so pretty, but so delicate. They were hard to keep alive for the first month, I had about 5...once they made it past that point they were pretty hardy. They just stress so easy, and yours were just purchased, so I advised to not add any stress you don't have to. I love the fish you selected.

Though I would post an update all the fish in the QT are doing great - did a water change today. They are eating really well, one of the anthias does not like bigger pieces of mysis but it is eating.
Bought a few inverts today as well 2 cleaner shrimp (not even an inch long) 2 emerald crabs and a pom pom crab - he is cool. I also put them in a QT - it is about 3 gallons with a HOB filter - drip acclimated them for about 3 hours - fed them and everyone ate. I guess it will be about 5 weeks before they are in the main tank. Here is a picture of the Pom pom crab.

Just a quick update - I am so happy with these new fish, they are almost 3 weeks in QT in my kitchen and they are doing great - no aggression or anything between the flasher and anthias - they are eating well - they are not shy anymore I can walk by and they are not scared. Tangs Rule and I discussed the importance of the fish being exposed to movement or normal activities in the house, I think there is a lot to be said about that. They probably would eat out of my hand because when I open the top they are right there. Can't wait to get them in the 65. Inverts in the other QT are doing great as well the emeralds and the pom pom crabs are getting along fine and the two cleaner shrimp as well. I feel a lot better about the QT process since the loss of the orange back wrasse.

HI my name is Al and I am fish killer
I am so disappointed in myself this morning, I can't even begin to type how I feel, but it is all about me being a cheap B$$t@$&.
I decided to move the QT fish into the fish room into another another tank because I wanted to put a Fluval canister filter on the QT to improve the filtering. I could not put the Fluval on the tank where it was because there was no room. So I started moving water to the new QT and the last 5 gallons the water looked a bit dirty so I decided to use some two day old water change water from my reef tank, that was just sitting in a water change garbage pail. Did I test it no, am I cheap yes.
Well I wake up this morning to find all three fish dead. I am so angry with myself they were doing so well.
I don't know what else to say just don't do what I did, I have been in this hobby for almost two years and my stupidity caused a disaster.
As I stand I am committed to set up a perfect QT - I have a 40 gallon long that I will set up in the fish room properly.

Oh Al...I'm so sorry. I am so guilty of doing what you did. I never leave well enough alone either. You were refilling a 40g?..... I don't understand how 5g of water added to 35g could have made such a difference to kill your fish. Even if SG was way off they should have been alright. Worse case it had nitrates, which fish don't really care about until the numbers are redicules.

Thanks Flower - It was about 5 gallons in a 15 gallon tank
Oh...big difference from adding 5g of water into a 40g than into a 15g. Nonetheless, what was in the used water or was it just a different SG? What a bummer, like Teresa said...we all make mistakes and learn from them. Here you were doing a QT and following all procautions....At least this Oh Crap what happened event was in the QT, and not the DT.
