"Putting it all together" -or- "how to make it all flow"

I am assembling the 90 gallon tank that I have been posting about. I think that most people put there UV sterilizer on the return to the tank. I was thinking of putting it on the flow to the skimmer. That way I could slow down the flow and have it be most effective. Is there any reason to not do this?
So the plumbing would be:
overflow to the sump and the heater
next compartment is one pump going to the UV then the protein skimmer.
next compartment is the cheto
next is the return pump to the tank.
What do ya think?

Good idea,
however I think that most ppl put the UV after the skimmer because the skimmer well skimms the junk out making the job of the UV easyer,
less junk in the h2o the longer the bulb will last and more effective in output of the UV will be.
your right about most ppl puting the UV on the return line but that IMO is not the best place for it because the flow is generaly to fast. not engouf dwell time to kill all the stuff they are trying to get out of there tank. once again making the UV unit not very effactive.
IMO the UV should have its own pump placed after all the skimmers and other filters in your sump.
try using a smal pump so the h20 has more dwel time.
I have a 240gal tank w/ a 25ish in the sump I have a 40W UV pushed my a maxijet 900 only around 150GPH
hoe this helps in some way!
good luck

So I should put the protein skimmer first and then the UV?
So the plumbing would be:
overflow to the sump and the heater
next compartment is one pump going to the protein skimmer Located next to sump and then the UV and returning to the sump.
next compartment is the cheto
next is the return pump to the tank.
Can I have the pump to the skimmer and UV in the same compartment as the overflow pipe or should it be in s separate compartment because of bubbles?
