Question about BTA's

I just picked one up today, and had a question. I read that you should keep the light off for a while when you first introduce them. I left the light off a few hours, and it seemed to find a comforbable spot, and quit moving.
After a few hours, my light timers kicked off and it decided to move again. Is this pretty normal, and will it eventually find a spot and stay?
Thanks in advance!

They will move around a bit until they find a comfortable spot. That's what mine did. They like to keep thier "foot" out of the light and the tenticles in the light.I have only had mine for 3 months and it is doing great!Goood luck!

Yes, this is normal behavior for anemones. They will move around the tank until they find a place that they are happy with - good lighting, good current, good water conditions. Keep an eye on it... anemones move around without concern for corals, filters, or powerheads. I've seen several people have corals killed, or anemones sucked into filters/powerheads before.

I woke up this morning to find him stuck to the back of the tank, almost on the suction tube of my protein skimmer.
I hope he finds a happy spot soon.

I suggest that when u see him, somewere near were u want him. Feed him some krill. If is dry krill soak it for a bit... I noticed they like current but not direct current, something that over flows him and will take away the junk he poops!!!! but wont bather him. Side to side movement like the sea. Like some body said I think they like to keep their foot under or hidden on a rock. Mine is wedged between three rocks (the foot) all this time it has grown and stretched huge I would say 8" to 10" round. I feed it twice a week a piece of krill since I had it close to 8 months under compact lighting (ACHIVEMENT) happy to say it.... any ways these are my suggestions and my tricks to get mine big and healthy, u may try them they worked for me and may work for u!

If he is on the glass too close to the powerhead and you are worried about him getting sucked in you can put an icecube on the glass behind him and he will move.

It looks like he found a nice spot this mornig after the lights came on. He quickly moved back down to where I origianlly set him at.
BTW, I feed my clown Mysis shrimp (sp?) and the BTA cought a few small chunks and quickly closed up on them. Seems like he likes the shrimp. Any opinions on it eating the shrimp, good or bad?

Excellent food for a BTA IMO.
