Question for Rio nano skimmer users

For those of you who have experience with the Rio nano skimmer...
There's this white stick that goes into the needle wheel impeller. I'm not sure what this is called, but it's visible in this diagram. Anyway, mine is broken, and for the skimmer to work, I need to replace it or find something similar. Any ideas on how to get a new one, or what I can use in its place?

What few replacement impellers I've bought came with its own shaft included.

Did this work for u before it broke? The rio nano skimmer didnt have very good reviews so i passed it up!

Thanks for the PM, slice. It did work, and it even collected some of the bad stuff... but it was difficult to get it running.

Either mine is a piece of crap, or my two small clowns in my 11 gal don't produce enough bioload for any skim. Still shopping around for another nano skimmer.

I could never get mine to work right either.....sometimes I would hit that little white bar just right and it would work....SOMETIMES
if you are looking for a good nano skimmer I HIGHLY recommend the aquaticlife 115...it is internal, around $60 and WORKS!!!!
