R.I.P Heath Ledger!

Alright...time to calm down everyone.
It's a tragedy, plain and simple. NY is right in that we shouldn't make assumptions, but it does look like it was a suicide, in all likelihood. *Assuming* it was, that goes lots of ways. I've suffered from major depression before, and everything was telling me to go ahead and end it, but by thinking of those I loved, I was able to avert tragedy. I have others, though, who weren't so lucky. They hurt the people around them... but by jumping into their shoes, I discovered that none of them meant to hurt anyone... there is a veil over their eyes, disguising the reality of a situation. Most people aren't strong enough, or aren't lucky enough to have people help them, to see through the veil, and that's not their fault.

yeah i still dont know wether it was an accident or not either

why is heath's death any different then the guy down the street? He was an actor but further more a human that cracked under the pressure.
Yeah it stinks that a person took their own life, but that happens everyday and no one but family and friends deal with it. The general public has not a clue or a want to know about some self loathing lunatic that took their own life.
With life comes death and death has many faces.
Its sux for his family but life moves forward.
Ok go ahead a bash me for being a cold hearted

I was not being in the least bit callous. If you note, I am NOT one of the people that jumped on the suicideOD bandwagon. I just dont feel that his acting was that good.

It was 3 hours later where you are. Up pretty late surfing, and on this morning already. Maybe we both have too much free time.

Actually, I was just getting home last nite and read posts before bed, on my way to class this A.M. and now just got home. Do you wanna know how many times I've peed today as well?

My point exactly...I've had someone in my immediate family attempt suicide before over horrific things(physical, mental and sexual) that occurred during their childhood, luckily they lived.

I actually agree. I've yet to see any movie with him in it that was any good. "A Knight's Tale" and "The Order" are 2 of the worst abominations ever put on film. I thought whatever gruffy accent he was trying to put on in Brokeback Mountain was completely over the top and unrealistic to the point that I couldn't even watch the movie (even before the hot and heavy stuff started).
that being said, the new Batman movie DOES look good and it looks like his joker is the polar opposite of Jack Nicholson's (which is a good idea because it would be hard to out-Nicholson Nicholson as the joker). I am definitely looking forward to it but it will be hard watching it knowing that the guy on the screen is dead (much like Brandon Lee in the Crow).

well, I was riding alongside you in that bandwagon. then, I got out and got into the "Heath Ledger wasn't in any good movies" bandwagon because the gas is much cheaper than the late 50s model gas guzzler that you're driving.

well, if my housekeeper found me dead, I would absolutely hope that Mary Kate Olsen would be the first person that she called.
not that I have a housekeeper.

I avoided the acting issue because the fact that he was a poor actor had no bearing on my decision to hate him for child abandonment. A live person would go to jail for dumping their kids and walking away. (or at least pay child support) Surely his daughter will be taken care of financially, right? I mean, rich people have insurance, or money in the matress or ... something ... right?

I'm sure the child will be taken care of financially, the mother is a fairly well known actress too. but yeah, leaving the child for a supermodel (or for Mary Kate Olsen, or whoever) is pretty crappy imo.
I don't know if he was a bad actor, I just know that I didn't like any of his movies. but I think Batman will change that because it's hard not to like any Batman movie that doesn't have Clooney or Kilmer in it.

The issue I have with batman movies is that I keep waiting to see Adam West and am disappointed when Michael Keaton won't even do it.

I thought Kilmer was good in TOMBSTONE, but that's all I really know him for. "I'm your Huckleberry" is one of my favorite movie lines and I use it often in everyday life. It's cool when someone recognizes it and cracks up.

WHY DOES ANYONE EVEN CARE. I think its sad that because the horse's ass was famous that it gets this attention. Crap happened all over the country today to hundreds of others and no one gave a damn except those caught up in it. I'd feel like crap if I lost someone today and had to listen to some jackass that had it made in life and couldn't figure out he needed help.
Jesus I just got started.... what an a-hole for wasting our time.
Seriously I am not bitter.

Wow, regarless of your bitterness toward this man, I think that was uncalled for. Seriously, the man was a father of a 2 year old girl. The "

[hr]
" that were found near him were all perscription and all perscribed to him. Yeah, lots of stuff goes on all around the world that no one pays attention to, but in the end he was famous so it's going to get press. I'd say you're an "a-hole" for this type of post and I'd say that suprises me, but from the d-bag look on your face I'm guessing this is normal for you. Maybe you can go join in the retarded Phelps family's picketing of the funeral. You sound like you'd get along with them.

I don't have TV so I miss a lot of details.
Funerals are not for dead people. They are for the families and loved ones. Let them bury him in peace.

this same family protests at funerals of US troops and any other group or person that can force their hate on. Look up Fred Phelps on wikipedia or something. They live in Kansas somewhere, I used to live in KC, so the radio station there always had them on trying to figure out what their problem is and why they have so much hate.
