U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000
Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget:
* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total budget cuts: $385
Get the picture yet?

Yep, get the picture. In a situation like this, the household would file for chapter 7 bankruptcy and screw the creditors. Wonder how that would work...

So, realistically, America just needs a better job with a much higher salary! Problem solved!

In this apples to oranges comparison - gov vs household.
1. We did have a higher paying job and chose to take one with lower pay. (tax-cuts)
2. We did at the same time borrow a ton of money and went to the Casino and lost it (2 unfunded decade long wars, one was supposed to be paid for by oil revenues)
Hard to liquidate casino losses in a bankruptcy :)

Best way the government can give itself a raise is to exploit natural resources on federal lands. That still isn't going to do it.

Only thing that we can do is live more frugally and pay our debts as citizens. If you don't like what your government is doing - do something about it. If voting isn't working then there's the alternative - revolution. However, the Government is crippling our citizens by taking away the ability for its citizens to defend themselves against their own government. 2-3 freedoms are taken away every single day in the US. How much more are we, as citizens, going to give up to have the illusion of security?

The CBO estimated the bush tax cuts added 1.6 trillion dollars to the debt from 2001 to 2011. The cbo also estimated the wars have cost 4 trillion during the same span. So this roughly equals half a trillion per year towards the deficit. Your argument in math doesn't add up. If these are the reasons for our deficit and needing to raise the budget ceiling...the wars are ending. so therefore we shouldn't have a budget ceiling problem without these wars.

And those numbers came from using contrived assumptions the Democrats provided. The war spending assumes none of the people that were in Iraq or Afghanistan would be in the military if it weren't for the wars. And with the tax cuts they don't account for revenue increases caused by the economic activity the cuts encouraged.

Darth logic strikes again:

My logic? Didn't I imply spending cuts were needed if we raise the debt ceiling?
Where the hell did you get that chart? I know I have had a fair amount of some really good scotch tonight, but even I can do math based off that chart. According to that chart we are running a 67 TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT! And my logic strikes again? Go back into hibernation....your comments held more credibility that way.

this is common sense to some, however I felt it best to use the numbers the liberal was most familiar with and still show the faulty logic in the weakened statement made.

Braindeaddemocrats.com is my first guess LOL! In 2010 and 2011 the government took in about 2.3 trillion each year. Divide that by 365. The Post took one particular day. Not sure what their point was other than to push an agenda.
But by all means lets just continue to give away cell phone service and keep lowering the standards and recruiting more people for welfare and give legal status to the border trash that keeps breaking into the country. It's only money, we can print more.

It is clearly to push an agenda...but the agenda should be spending cuts based off that chart. The chart implies everyday spending is similar. But there are many days that run a surplus as well..........Thus proving my point, that id all we do is pay for mandatory spending and those bills already passed by congress that are accountable the debt ceiling doent need raised. It only needs raised because we decided to spend more............

What cracks me up is El Presidente threatens not to pay Social Security and Veterans benefits if the debt ceiling isn't extended. SS is about 98 percent funded by FICA taxes coming in but he wont pay that so he can keep paying his whores their welfare payments.
Now today we learn he's starting his own propaganda organization. This administration is looking more Hitleresque every day.

What welfare whores are you referring to? The $100 billion a year corporate welfare programs or the individuals who are unemployed, illness, disability, elderly, those with dependent children, and veterans?
or all the above?

This cracks me up.   Wasn’t it wrapped up in patriotic propaganda for the motherland, blaming minorities Jews, gypsies, having wealthy financiers, waging war.  I can see the similarities, but you are trying to identify the wrong party…..
Elaborate on this...because I think I know the direction you are going, but I want to be clear on it before I respond.....
