Raising PH

A higher Salinity would typically keep PH slightly higher.
Low PH is usially caused by either excess dissolved CO2 or metabolic acids from rotting detritus.
The tanks pretty new so it is probably the co2. How would I help fix this?
I am going to do a good water change before I finally add the cuc too, which will help but won't fix the problem.

So I picked up rock to show my mom some snails and found this little tiny guy. He looked almost like a shrimp, but was about a mm. I could tell he was living and when i tried to touch him he ran into the rock.
What is this guy, a copepod, or baby shrimp or something?
And I'm guessing if I have living creatures like that it's good to add a CUC?

When i tested my p.h. before i used the ati testing kit and it read 7.8-8.0 then i had my lfs test it and they said it was 8.2 so then i bought a salfeit test kit and it reads 8.2...Just A Thought
So I probably had a faulty test kit...
Maybe you should have your LFS test your water then go from there...

I'll bring it in when I go. MY local pet store is a pet smart and they have almost nothing for salt water fish.
But it's good to hear it's an amphipod, it was pretty crazy. I didn't expect it to jump like it did, ran right back into the rock haha. My mom actually screamed and ran away, it was awesome.
I also might be picking up 5 hermits tonight, and they are trying to give me a free goby haha. They are just getting rid of everything because they are moving, but I think I would rather add the cuc at least a week before.

Ok. I'll post some soon even if I don't get any.
Here's what it used to look like before sand and my new powerhead. It looks 100% better now though...

Those hang-on heaters are dangerous with saltwater. Get a submersible when you get a chance.
I'd add a powerhead as well for water circulation as soon as possible.

Yah I have to get a new one for my mixing tank so I'm going to get a submersible one for my main tank and use that it the mixing tank.
And I have a powerhead in there now. It is an aquaclear for 20 gallon tanks, I think it pushes 120 GPH. I have it aimed at the side of my tank and it rebounds and goes everywhere. I don't think there are any dead spots.

Here's a pic from the top. I forgot to upload the whole tank photo and now my dad is using the camera.

Ok here it is:

Need to touch up some water in it too, getting a little low.

I just noticed these mini feather duster looking things.
A lot of living things have been popping up this week, seems like the water is pretty healthy.

Thanks. Can't wait to get a CUC and fish haha. I'm already amazed by the little amphipods that keep popping up haha.
More snails are popping up too :D
