I prefer not to buy rare fish. They are ussualy expensive and require special care to survive. Just my opinion; Don T.

I beg to differ on this quote. Yes they are more expensive, but no they dont always require special care. That is the issue a lot of times...people think that the expensive fish require something different.
My clarion angel is probably the most bullet proof fish I own and happens to be the most expensive!

I had a toadfish, what was rare aboutmine is my foxface stung it and it died
here ya go,, only had him like a month
and my most expensive fish was a queen angel,, and i killed that too
(i have since figured out my tank is at its fish limit, i also added a goby that got pushed into my anemone and eaten, didnt even have him long enough to get a pic, like 2 days)

the toadfish for whatever reason decided to swim up to the top when i was feeding and didnt want to wait until i got the feeding stick out.
Which scared my very jittery foxface, which made him have a heart attack and swim back and forth in the tank, banging himself against the sides and top to which he died but not before stinging the toadfish,
the toadfish did not actually die that night, rather he puffed up like he was taking a great big breath and died the next morning like that, with his mouth wide open

Rare, but not terribly pricey, and easy to care for - Panda Goby (Paragobius lacunicolus). These guys are really good buddies. I'm hoping they're a pair. The "big" one is 3/8". Full grown they're ~1/2":
