RBTA question

i have these 2 peices of live rock against each other and they make alittle cave inbetween them. I got a RBTA today and i laid it on the outside of one of the rocks. Well it moved around the rock and went into the little cave. Theres not alot of light in the cave so will the anemone move at some point of will i have to move him? and if he doesn't move how long should i wait before i move him myself?

thanks Bang Guy, i also wanted to know if i should upgrade my lighting from my 130 watt Coralife light to the 192 watt Coralife light for my 30 galleon? or is 130 enough for the RBTA?

Yes, plz upgrade your lighting.
It may have gone and hid from the light if it is bleached. Bleached anemones tend to hide from light.

I'd just leave it as is. I find that some anemones like being shaded and for some reason survive fairly well like that. If he isn't doing well under there he will come out by itself.

its almost 4 oclock in the evening here in VA and the RBTA hasn't moved at all, all day. Should i be worried yet because i mean it hasn't moved its foot all day like it did yesterday, to get under the rock.

It's fine. In time it will start to peek out from under the rock. It will probably never remove its foot from that cave but the tentacles will come out more each day until it's fully acclimated to your current & lighting.
This is a critical time for it. If it doesn't have enough energy to tide itself over during acclimation then it will perish. If it has the energy to survive until it acclimates then it will flourish.
Moving it now will waste more of it's precious energy because it will have to start over.
Try to find a way to feed it. A turkey baster full of Mysis shrimp might work.

its the pink thing in the middle lol sry for the bad camera but i don't wanna use the digical on this pic. lol. As you can see this will be hard to feed it. And can i try it with brine shrimp?

Perhaps it's the picture but it looks severly bleached. If so you'll need to feed it a lot. All I can suggest is a curved tube so you can squirt food at the tentacles. Brine shrimp have no nutritional value for an Anemone. Try minced silversides or Mysid shrimp, Krill, etc.

No, a bleached anemone will have all its natural colors, except brown. The zooxanthelae are brown colored, so it gives the anemone a nice brown tint.

And this is a picture of a VERY bleached RBTA. Still has the rose color, but no brown at all and tentacles are see through.
BTW, the bleached one is not mine. Just trying to keep my rep up. :D
