ready...set...FROGFISH!

hey all
I just ordered a new a. mac angler (clown wartskin angler) and he is arriving this wednesday ! Im too impatient to post a thread then so Im starting it now. Ill post pics on wed. Im in maui vacationing and the store emailed me letting me know he was in stock! 200 bucks later and hes on his way :)

I was excited when I recieved my frogfish as well. Good luck with that species :)

Just got him this AM he acclimated well and is "walking" around as we speak. hes a little under 2"

anyone who has one..
what are you feeding yours? I tried some prawn and some shrimp on the clear feeding stick but he had no interest.
Are you only feeding live?
Any info would be helpful :)

I only feed live shrimp, and if yours is anything like mine, he will not swim all over the place tryign to eat him, the shrimp HAS to be right infront of his mouth. I feed him once every two days.

like ghost shrimp? is that a healthy enough food source? do you s.p.e.a.r the shrimp and put it in front of him or just let the shrimp go in the tank?

Start with live foods like ghost shrimp and then wean it over to frozen. I've taught them to eat from tweezers and also to swim up to a small net that has food in it. Both methods seem to work well.
You can also 'gut load' the ghost shrimp by feeding them a good, quality food before you feed them to the frogfish.

I did something similar with a dwarf lionfish I had... the whole weaning to frozen foods thing. I downsized my tank and had to sell him but he was doing great on frozen.. with a few ghosts for a treat now and then :)
Ill pick him up some ghosts tomorrow.

hey everyone!
I took some more pics!
So, I picked up brine shrimp and more ghost shrimp and flowered him with all the food and hes acknowledging it but not eating it.... so I was getting worried... WELL...
My bicolor blenny who is the biggest jerk ever is not eating ... no where to be found... Ive had corals die because the blenny would bite them over and over - always harrasssing. He even would bite me whenever I put my hands in the tank.
So I started taking pics and I realized that my angler has a GHETTO BOOTY! He has this big bubble that looks like a ... blenny? wrapped up in there. Holy cow he ate my adult bicolor blenny!
At least he ate I guess lol
