Red Kelp

Sorry if I spelled it wrong but I've got some red kelp growing in my tank. I was told that it is "prized" and hard to come by. It doesn't really bother me, it just kind of looks like another coral but it's starting to get too big. So is it safe to keep in my tank? Is it safe to prune it down? Is it really hard to come by? Thanks!

It's safe to prune it. It might be worth seeing if anyone want some and is willing to trade for it.

THanks bang. I'm kind of curious how someone would reattach it to a rock if I cut it down a bit though? Do you know? Or would it just be used for food or something?

I believe that if you set a rock on it then it will sprout attachment filaments.
