Yeah thought about it for awhile...lol
Predators aren't good for nanos unless it's species only like a frogfish or mantis shrimp...
My next tank is going to be a 20 gallon long frogfish tank...lol

Awsome tank Cal! I just picked up red sea max and was wondering how your corals and the bta were doing? and also what corals do you have in there? I really wanna add a hammer coral and probably a bta and i keep getting mixed answers about adding them to the red sea..
Thanks

As far as hammers, torches and frogspawns go, they will do fine the rsm. I only have the bta in my tank because it was a hitch hiker and i also have had mixed opinions about them also. If your going to do an anemone the bta requires the less light out of them all...
Right now i have 2 torches and 1 frogspawn doing just fine they opened up completely...
When i 1st noticed my bta it was the size of a dime...now it's the size of a nickle and gained a little more color and hasn't moved for a month...so maybe these are good signs idk...
I guess you will never know until someone has actually kept one alive for over a year in the rms so thats what i plan to find out...
Oh yeah on post #129 Perfect Dark gives good advice on what corals you can keep under the rms light...

cool Thanks Cal! I have 1 more question for anyone who has had the rsm..
ive had the tank up and running for about a week now and it seems like my skimmer aint skimming a damn thing.. the bubbles or whatever dont even make it close to the top tube on the skimmer box. I tried messing with the air tube and still nothing...
any advice??
THANKS EVERYONE.

It's because there's no waste in your tank its still new...I had the same thing happen to me then found out that the function of the skimmer is to remove waste and amounts of uneaten food...Just as long as there's bubbles flowing up the shaft of the skimmer then your fine...I have my air valve adjusted so its half way open...
Hope this helps

Oh yeah adjustments on the air valve could take up to 24 hours to see a difference it won't just happen in like 5 min or something...lol
Try adjusting it open a lot then see what happens the next day and then adjust from there...

If your scared about the light not being strong enough for an anenome then clowns will host corals like a frogspawn or something...It all depends on the clowns though you can't force them to do anything.
If you buy clowns individually then make sure one is slightly smaller than the other so they will pair up faster. The biggest one will become the female and the smaller with be the male...lol
Oh yeah there is a upgrade for the lighting but it cost waaay too much imo $470 on nanotuners (150watt HQI)...

If you looked at the stock hood, wiring, and a DIY retrofit kit... you could probably accomplish the same thing or better for way less money.

don't do the sixline with a shrimp goby lol... asking for trouble there...
2 clowns, the shrimp goby, rainfords, and another small fish won't be too many at all.... a couple neon gobies (blue, yellow, or "sharknosed") would be cool too. The sharknosed basically has the body of a blue, but with a yellow face.. looks cool IMO.
p.s. I also hate bicolor blennies after my previous experience with them... get ready to return him if he gets out of hand with other fish in there.

+1 on bicolors being iffy. Had to return mine after he started munching on my duncans. I think he was testing me...he failed.
