I forgot to add. Its only on the glass...nothing else.
so you are saying it's slimey? Can you use something to scrape it off and scoop it out?
do you have any flow in there?

yes Ive been just wiping it off. Its mostley on the class where the water spills over into the next chamber. I dont have any power heads in there the flow is just from the return pump pulling the water through the sump...should I add a power head or two?

IDK....I have no powerheads in my sump/fuge either....I have recently gotten a little cyano on 1 section of acrylic though...I just made sure my return pump had something in front of it, scraped the cyano, and netted it.

I know what you mean....I had it in the 54G, and it was a nightmare and very time consuming to get rid of it...
Just try to make sure you do not let it get into the dt....I have read other threads about this in the fuge....not too sure what else can be done
just make sure you are not collecting crap down there too

I'd try to get some flow down there if there isn't much. You can always put a T from the return pump if you don't have one already, a ball valve on one end of it and lead it back to the beginning of the sump. This will take some stress off the pump if you have a ball valve on the return line and also up the flow through the sump.
Keep an eye on your nutrient levels (trates/phosphates/etc).
I'd just keep an eye out for crap building up too.
My $.02
(I'm giving my back a break from hand scrubbing 40ish lbs of live rock at the moment, so I completely agree with getting a jump on it and being concerned)

Meowzer and Heide264, thanks to you both for your advise!! MY nitrates are running a little high...around 20. I have no way to measure the phoshates so Im sure they are creeping up as well.

had the same problem. got poly-filter to remove phosphates, great product! and get chemiclean red slime remover, it gets rid of red slime in 2 to 3 days. use the poly-filter all the time to keep phosphates under control.

I'd avoid the additives if you can.
I've used the red slime stuff in a pinch to get the stuff away from my corals when I came back from school and found a slime farm in my tank =/. It worked. But everything just goes back into the water column, don't forget.
Not sure about the poly stuff. I used to run a phosphate reactor but it didn't do too much in all honesty. A pad might run better but you shouldn't have many phosphate issues IMO unless it's coming from the water.
I haven't been able to read any trates off a standard test kit with a sump (although i do have huge issues somewhere). I'd expect with a couple water changes as that sump settles in and if you have macro algae's growing in it you'll be surprised how much it helps =)

Thanks Nemo Ill give it a try. Heide I had mico algee growing in the sump but most of the cheeto died the other is doing great...growing like weeds, lol. The first chamber of my sump has dsb and live rock and micro algee growing, the second chamber has more sand and my frags growing on a stand I made and the third is just the return pump. My skimmer is a hang on so it on my dt.
