Do you believe that the US gubment should tax the crap out of the wealthier folks, then dole out the money to those on the lower end in the form of welfare, government giveaways, etc.? In other words, do you favor socialism?

but there has never been a country that maintained PURE communism for any amount of time. and communism & socialism are not the exact same thing.

Ding ding....we have a winner on "Why won't socialism work". Thanks for playing folks but the prizes have been equally dispersed throughout the audience with the winner getting a less than equal share.

Invent the cure for all cancers.....and get NOTHING. Kinda how it works.

Sure it has. In Communist countries.

living in Florida, surely you've talked to a Cuban or two in your day. ask one of them if they really feel that communism works. I talked to a Cuban once who said he'd been in pre-med school and then one day decided, "what's the point? I could live just as well being a janitor".

Talked to a Cuban??? They call me Cuban Cracker conyo.

I know exactly what it is to live under a "Socialist" communistic rule. Now Fidel is out, Cubans are finally allowed microwaves. MICROWAVES. What do we take for granted here???? Silly stuff.
No matter how hard you work to make your life and your family's life better....your only allowed the same rewards as someone doing NOTHING.
Oh, and Socialized healthcare is JUNK. Ask our pals to the North in Canada how that's working out.
Socialism....vote Obama or Clinton. They're pushing to bring it to us.

Hell no! My last commission check was taxed at almost 48%...I felt violated. If I could pick and choose where my taxes went I might feel better but I don't have that option.
I'd rather see our goverment close corporate loopholes and lets make sure big business is payng its due.

WH
wait a minute, it's the corporations that pay YOU. If uncle sam takes more from them what do you suppose will happen to your pay? Kinda sucks getting pushed into the "rich" catagory doesn't it. My wife got a big bonus, she ended up with about half.
Honestly we shouldn't even tax corporations, at least not those based in the US. The money has to go somewhere. The government would still collect their taxes from employees, officers and shareholders. All three of those already pay taxes so you are removing a layer of red tape and regulations but still collecting taxes, and mostly at a higher rate than on the corporate profits.
I'm in your camp about the whole let me pick where it goes. I don't mind one bit ponying up to help someone work their way out of a tough spot. It's the wasted foreign aid and some of the stupid social programs I object to funding.

I'll never understand those who slam big business. Sure, the oil companies and other corporations make big money, but they also provide good paying jobs to folks.
My son-in-law has worked in off shore oil drilling for the last several years. He is knocking on $100k per year now. Not bad for a GED educated guy who started out cooking fries at McDonalds.

And no doubt your son-in-law knows how much and how risky it is to drill an oil well. You can sink 100 million into a dry well and get nothing.
Thank him, by the way, it is no easy job - hard on the family, hard on the body.

Another thing all the oil haters fail to realize if these companies spend billions and risk having someone like that little runt chavez comming in and nationalizing foriegn fields.

Demonizing "big business" is just another form of political baiting by the liberal left. It has become so commonplace now that some people demonize business without even stopping to think about how it helps sustain us all.
